No. 1 CBA 2, Howell 0

Senior Brett Sieg converted a penalty kick three minutes into the match and junior Dylan Cupo headed in a cross from sophomore Will Thygeson just before the half as the Colts (4-0, 4-0) shut out the Rebels (3-2-2, 3-2-2) to remain unbeaten.

Middletown North 2, Middletown South 1

Senior Aidan Cardella scored both Middletown North goals in the second half and the Lions (2-3-1, 2-2-1) battled their way past the crosstown rival Eagles (3-4, 3-4). Sam Tinoco scored in the first half to stake Middletown South to a 1-0 lead.

 

Class A South

Toms River East 2, Jackson Memorial 0

Sophomore Kajus Matazinskas broke through for the game's first goal in the 70th minute off a feed from senior Alex Heid and junior Noah Raimonde added one in the 76th to lift the Raiders (2-5, 2-5) over the Jaguars (0-6-1, 0-6-1).

Brick 2, Brick Memorial 1 (OT)

Senior Zack Meyer scored the golden goal six minutes into the second overtime period and the Green Dragons (4-2, 4-2) topped the Mustangs (2-3-2, 2-3-2) in a rivalry game in Class A South.

Nicholas Quintero scored the first Brick goal while Anden Johnson got Brick Memorial on the board with his first goal.

No. 3 Toms River North 5, Central 0

Junior Jared Brown and senior Parker Nickelsen each scored two goals and the Mariners (6-0, 6-0) handled the Golden Eagles (0-5-1, 0-5-1) for their sixth straight win to open the year.

Junior Jimmy Ruppe opened the scoring off a pass from Nickelsen in the 23rd minute and Brown scored five minutes later to make it 2-0 before the half. Senior Ali Baish assisted two of the Toms River North goals - one each by Brown and Nickelsen.

No. 2 Southern 2, Toms River South 1 (OT)

Senior Kevin Kiernan scored the golden goal off a pass from senior Luke Hart in the second minute of overtime and the Rams (7-0, 7-0) erased a one-goal deficit to beat the Indians (3-3, 3-3) and remain unbeaten.

Southern entered the second half trailing, 1-0, but quickly pulled even on a goal by senior Ryan Leavitt off a Nico Leonard assist in the 44th minute.

Toms River South jumped on top in the 12th minute on a goal by senior Connor Clayton off a pass from senior Kyle Gauthier.

 

Class B Central

Point Beach 3, Asbury Park 2

Sophomore Owen Curtis headed in a corner kick from classmate Josh Boyan in the 64th minute to cap a come-from-behind win for the Garnet Gulls (5-1, 5-1) over the Blue Bishops (2-2, 2-2).

Point Beach trailed, 2-0, heading into the second half and got back in the game on a goal by Boyan in the 44th off a pass from junior Isaac Enu. The Gulls pulled even in the 56th when senior Matt Cavanaugh finished off a pass from Curtis.

Asbury Park jumped out to a two-goal lead on first-half goals by John Wesley Laravin and Ricardo Augustine on assists from Jaquan Lunsford and Davenson JoinVilmar.

Ranney 6, Keyport 1

Junior Tommy Boyan racked up a hat trick one game after posting four assists and the Panthers (5-0, 5-0) beat the Red Raiders (0-5, 0-5) to remain unbeaten in 2020.

Junior Charles Anyichie added his 11th goal of the season while Trent Redman and Avi Malek each contributed a goal for Ranney.

Class B South

Pinelands 2, Lacey 1 (OT)

Senior Johnny Hart scored two goals, including a 22-yard free kick in the final two minutes of the second overtime period to give the Wildcats (6-0-1, 6-0-1) a down-to-the-wire win over the Lions (5-1-1, 5-1-1) in a battle of unbeaten teams in B South.

Hart tied the game with a penalty kick in the 66th minute and with time ticking away in extra time, the senior struck a direct kick from the left side that he tucked inside the near post.

Lacey jumped on top in the 55th when senior D.J. Edinger converted a 30-yard, deflected free kick - the first goal of the season scored against Pinelands and senior goalkeeper Gavin Harris.

Jackson Liberty 3, Manchester 2

Senior Tim Cappucci scored two goals, including the winning goal in the 76th minute, and the Lions (5-2, 5-2) outlasted the Hawks (3-3-1, 3-3-1) on Senior Night.

Sophomore Gerard Cerino converted a penalty kick for Jackson Liberty's second goal and assisted both of Cappucci's goals.

Non-Division

St. Rose 5, Red Bank Catholic 0

James Vitale recorded a hat trick and the Purple Roses (5-1) topped the Caseys (0-6). Junior Kyle Corrigan added a goal and two assists and senior Matt Kirkpatrick scored a goal as well.
