Class A North

Marlboro 3, Middletown North 1

Junior Max Rosen assisted a goal by Dan Risin to open the scoring, then tacked on one of his own in the second half to spark the Mustangs (2-6-1, 2-6-1) to a win over the Lions (4-5-1, 4-3-1), which ended a seven-game winless streak.

Dylan Kipperman finished off a cross from Ryan Ricciardi for Marlboro's second goal of the first half.

Senior Aidan Cardella knocked in Middletown North's lone goal before the intermission and Rosen added his insurance goal on a rip inside the near post.

No. 1 CBA 2, Middletown South 0

Sophomore Will Thygeson broke open the scoring in the 48th minute off a pass from senior Shane Borenius and the Colts (9-0, 8-0) put away the Eagles (3-9, 3-9) to extend their perfect start to the season.

Senior Graydon Santos tacked on a second CBA goal in the 57th minute and senior goalkeeper Thomas Manners saved a penalty kick - his second penalty denial of the season.

 

Class A South

Toms River East 2, Brick Memorial 1 (OT)

Senior Alex Heid scored two goals, including the golden goal three minutes into overtime off a pass from senior Colby Gesser, and the Raiders (5-7, 5-7) beat the Mustangs (2-8-2, 2-8-2) to sweep the series this week.

Junior Noah Raimonde assisted the first goal by Heid, while Brick Memorial countered with a goal by senior Jack Fanning.

Southern 4, Central 0

Ryan Leavitt, Kevin Kiernan and Drew Wasacz each scored in the first half and junior Mario Addiego added a fourth goal in the 70th minute as the Rams (11-1, 11-1) handled the Golden Eagles (0-9-2, 0-9-1).

Toms River North 3, No. 10 Brick 1

Senior Parker Nickelsen scored a goal and assisted another during Toms River North's three-goal first half that carried the Mariners (12-0, 12-0) to another win over the Green Dragons (7-5, 7-5).

Juniors A.J. Emnace and Jared Brown each scored a goal in the first half, with senior Jack Montanile and junior David Anderson each dishing out an assist.

Senior Zack Meyer scored the lone goal for Brick.

Jackson Memorial 2, Toms River South 0

Senior Zach Rogacki poked in the game's first goal amid a scrum in the box during the 45th minute and junior Steve Bado converted a penalty kick after drawing a foul in the box during the 51st as the Jaguars (2-6-1, 2-6-1) downed the Indians (4-7, 4-7).

 

Class B Central

Henry Hudson 2, Keyport 1

Junior Elvis Gonzalez and senior Deontae Florek each scored a goal in the first half and the Admirals (3-8, 3-8) held on to beat the Red Raiders (0-10, 0-10) to sweep the series between the B Central sides.

Junior George Mitchell scored off a pass from senior Mustafa Kilic to get Keyport on the board in the second half.

Class B South

Pinelands 2, Manchester 1 (OT)

Senior Nate Szwed scored the golden goal off a pass from senior Johnny Hart in the second overtime period and the Wildcats (9-1-1, 9-1-1) nipped the Hawks (5-5-1, 3-5-1) to complete a series sweep this week.

Hart opened up the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 33rd before junior Vincent Paollilo answered for Manchester with a strike from outside the 18-yard box midway through the second half.

Lacey 3, Point Boro 2 (OT)

Senior D.J. Edinger scored the golden goal off a set-up from junior Bryan Cardoso and the Lions (9-2-1, 9-2-1) survived a comeback by the Panthers (2-6-1, 2-6-1).

Senior Noah Hamouda scored twice during a span of six minutes to stake Lacey to a 2-0 lead by the 28th minute but Point Boro fought back to tie the score in the second half, with senior Charles Latendorf notching the equalizer in the 68th off a pass from sophomore Jared Elliott.

Junior Jeff Thompson scored the first Point Boro goal to trim the deficit to 2-1 in the 57th.
