Junior Aidan Tisony scored the game's lone goal on a penalty kick and the Spartans (4-0, 4-0) edged the Blue Devils (0-3, 0-3) to remain perfect in the early going of 2020.

Junior David Tuschmann scored two first-half goals off passes from classmate Tom Samaras and senior Michael Bartelli added a second-half goal to cap a Cougars (3-0, 3-0) win over the Lancers (0-3-1, 0-3-1).

No. 4 CBA 3, Rumson-Fair Haven 0

Junior Marco Mastriani assisted a goal by senior Shane Borenius in the fifth minute and later headed in a cross from classmate Declan Kelly in the second half as the Colts (1-0) topped the Bulldogs (2-1) to win their season opener.

Senior Brett Sieg converted a penalty kick in the 17th minute following a handball in the box to make the score, 2-0. Mastriani's header on the backpost cross from Kelly capped the scoring in the 44th.

Middletown South 1, No. 9 Marlboro 0 (OT)

Senior Chase Guinta scored the golden goal in the first overtime period and the Eagles (1-3, 1-3) tamed the Mustangs (1-2-1, 1-2-1) eight days after losing to Marlboro, 4-0, on opening day.

 

Class B Central

Ranney 8, Henry Hudson 0

Junior Charles Anyichie scored four goals and classmate Tommy Boyan added two to lead the Panthers (1-0, 1-0) past the Admirals (0-3, 0-3) for a win in their season opener. Jett Pacifico and Noah Abrams each scored a goal as well in the Ranney win.

 

Non-Division

Holmdel 1, Middletown North 0

Senior Tomas Zolofra scored off a pass from Connor Hinds in the fourth minute and the Hornets (3-0) made the goal stand up in a win over the Lions (0-3). The victory pushes Holmdel's unbeaten streak to 57 straight games.
