CLASS A NORTH

No. 10 Freehold Township 16, No. 6 Howell 4

The Patriots (7-3, 3-1) jumped out to an 8-0 lead and ran away with a crucial victory over the rival Rebels (7-4, 3-2) on senior night.

Senior midfielder Mike Ferdinandi scored a game-high five goals and junior attackman Josh Nastarowicz had four goals and two assists to lead a balanced scoring attack that featured seven different goal scorers. Junior midfielder Mike Colicchia added two goals and two assists, sophomore attackman Chris Novella scored twice with one assist and junior attackman Drew Dunn had one goal and two assists as the Patriots pushed their winning streak to four games.

Juniors Mike Martino and Shawn Poole also scored, and sophomore goalie Billy Patten made seven saves in goal.

Senior midfielder Nick Rossi had two goals and one assist to lead Howell. Junior midfielder Nico Lorenzo added one goal and one assist and junior attackman Ryan Damelio had one goal.

 

Middletown North 13, Marlboro 2

Senior attackman Bryan Flannigan scored three goals, including the 100th of his career, while adding three assists as the Lions (6-6, 2-3) ran past the Mustangs (2-9, 0-6).

Senior midfielder Khristian Acosta led all scorers with four goals and two assists. Senior midfielder Hayden Fairhurst also scored three times while junior attackman Shawn Haskins scored twice and junior goalie Jake Roche made seven saves.

CLASS A SOUTH

No. 3 Southern 14, Brick 3

Senior attackman Nick Simonelli scored five goals and added four assists as the Rams (8-0, 5-0) remained undefeated by dominating the Dragons (2-9, 1-5).

Junior attackman Kyle Mulrane had a hat trick and one assist while senior midfielder Jon Manzo scored twice. Junior middie Will Johnson and senior middie James Manzo each had one goal and two assists. Kyle Brown and Dylan Smith each tallied once and Nick Fontana had two assists.

Anthony DiCristina, Mickey Holland and Nick D'Eufemia each scored once for Brick.

 

Lacey 14, No. 8 Brick Memorial 7

Junior midfielder Connor Wilson scored three goals and senior midfielder Ryan Mahon scored two goals with two assists as the Lions (6-4, 3-2) doubled up the Mustangs (9-2, 4-2) for a key divisional victory.

Sophomore attackman JoeCarlo Chimenti and sophomore midfielder Justin Covey each scored twice with one assist. Senior attackman Tom Campbell and freshman Vitale finished with two goals each and junior midfielder Nick DeOliveira had one goal and one assist while going 18-3 on face-offs. Senior goalie Mike Trezza made eight saves.

Junior attackman Gavin Murphy led Brick Memorial with three goals and one assist. Junior attackman Henry Moran had one goal and two assists and senior goalie Chris Sayers made 19 saves. Mike Mowder had one goal and one assist and Steve Assante and Zack Morton each scored once.

 

No. 7 Toms River North 10, Toms River East 4

 

CLASS B NORTH

No. 4 Ocean 10, Shore 8

Senior midfielder Connor Daly and junior midfielder Sam Hanna each scored three times and senior attackman Joey Appio had a goal and five assists as the Spartans (10-0, 6-0) edged the Blue Devils (7-4, 3-2).

Freshman attackman Holden Lowe added two goals and sophomore defenseman Richie Bianchi had one goal. Junior goalie David Walk made eight saves.

Senior midfielder Doug Goldsmith and freshman midfielder Gil Goldsmith each had two goals and two assists to pace Shore. Freshman midfielder Jack McCrae added two goals and one assist and sophomore Ryan Morris and freshman Jake Turner each scored once. Senior goalie Hunter Avallone made six saves.

 

Red Bank 20, Long Branch 2

Senior attackman Cole Smolokoff tallied two goals and two assists to reach 200 career points and lead the Bucs (6-7, 4-2) past the Green Wave (0-12, 0-5).

Senior midfielder Brian Fagan had a game-high five goals and three assists and senior midfielder Ryan Gilmartin had a hat trick and three assists.

Sophomore attackman Dan Bonanno finished with two goals and one assist and junior attackman Karl Hottman also scored twice. Junior Evan Peterson and sophomores Will Spencer and Anthony Buonantuono each had one goal and one assist. Jon Doherty, John Quinn and Liam Sheehan had one goal each. Freshman goalie Matt Gibson made nine saves.

 

St. John Vianney 11, Ranney 3

Junior midfielder Tino D'Amore scored four goals and added one assist to power the Lancers (6-6, 3-4) to victory over the Panthers (0-7, 0-6).

Junior attackmen Chris Kelly and Andrew Poretta each scored twice and junior midfielder Ryan Gilfillan had one goal and three assists. Sophomore midfielder Nick Peckyno and senior midfielder Connor Zielasnicki each scored once and senior goalie D.J. Soriano made eight saves.

Jack Torpey scored twice and Matthew Torpey scored once for Ranney.

 

CLASS B SOUTH

No. 9 Wall 18, Donovan Catholic 9

Senior attackman Mike Steppe poured in seven goals and added one assist and senior midfielder Lucas Iarossi had two goals and five assists as the Crimson Knights (9-2, 4-1) topped the Griffins (2-9, 0-3).

Sophomore attackman Mike McIntyre and sophomore midfielder Connor Prindiville each finished with two goals and two assists. Will Forte added two goals and one assist and Tim O'Hern, Kyle Peters and Christopher Stone each scored once. Zach Harrell made 13 saves.

 

Jackson Liberty 11, Barnegat 6

Senior attackman Tyler Kalmowitz and sophomore midfielder Max Matthies each scored three times to lead the Lions (7-4, 2-2) past the Bengals (4-6, 2-2) for their fourth straight win.

Dylan O'Connor scored twice with one assist, Walter Matthies finished with one goal and one assist and Matt Ferullo and Randy Vengen each scored once.

Senior attackman Ryan Reynolds had three goals and one assist to lead Barnegat. Senior midfielder J.J. McKenna had two goals and one assist and senior midfielder Joe Jinks had one goal and three assists.
