CLASS B NORTH

No. 5 Ocean 18, Long Branch 0

Senior midfielder Erik Rant scored five goals and added three assists, and junior goalie David Walk made four saves to record his fourth career shutout as the Spartans (7-0, 3-0) remained perfect by blanking the Green Wave (0-6, 0-3).

Senior attackman Joey Appio had a goal and five assists and senior Connor Daly scored three times with one assist. Junior Sam Hanna tallied twice with two assists and sophomore Richie Bianchi had a game-high nine ground balls. Senior Alex Bravo went 13 of 14 on face-offs.

 

No. 10. St. John Vianney 10, Red Bank 6

Junior midfielder Tino D'Amore had two goals and two assists and junior attackman Andrew Porretta finished with two goals and one assist as the Lancers (4-2, 2-1) opened up a big lead and held off a fourth-quarter charge by the Bucs (3-4, 1-1).

Senior midfielder Tom Hansen also scored twice and junior midfielder Ryan Gilfillan added a goal and two assists. Senior midfielder Conor Zielasnicki tallied a goal and an assist and juniors Nick Moss and Matt Swisher also scored. Senior goalie D.J. Soriano made nine saves.

Senior midfielder Brian Fagan scored four times and added two assists for Red Bank. Senior attackman Cole Smolokoff had a goal and two assists and senior midfielder Ryan Gilmartin also scored. Senior goalie Jon Pierce made 16 saves.

 

Holmdel 10, Ranney 2

Sophomore attackman Justin Arredondo scored three times and junior midfielder Billy DiMaio had two goals and two assists to lead the Hornets (1-5, 1-1) past the Panthers (0-4, 0-3).

Sophomore attackman Jake Preziose sank a pair of goals and also had an assist, and junior midfielder Kevin Burmeister also scored twice while picking up a game-high eight ground balls. Senior Frank Entwistle had two assists and Matthew Lionette scored once. Junior Jack Cook went 11 for 15 on face-offs and also had an assist.

 

No. 1 Rumson-Fair Haven 14, Shore 1

Senior attackman Robbie Garavente and junior midfielder Bryan Hess each scored three times to lead a balanced scoring effort as the top-ranked Bulldogs (5-1, 2-0) cruised past the rival Blue Devils (3-3, 0-1).

Juniors Alex Werner and Colin Pavluk each had a goal and an assist and seniors Butch Clark, Jeremy Johnson, Matt Waters and Henry Sillen, plus juniors Oliver Heins and Charlie Curran also each found the back of the net once. Clark won 13 of 15 face-offs and also had a game-high seven ground balls.

Freshman midfielder Gil Goldsmith scored Shore's only goal.

 

NONDIVISIONAL

No. 7 Freehold Township 13, No. 6 Red Bank Catholic 8

Junior attackman Drew Dunn fired in four goals and added four assists, and junior attackman Josh Nastarowicz had three goals and two assists to give the Patriots (3-2) a key victory over the Caseys (3-2) in head coach Ryan Eichner's first game against the program he led to the 2010 SCT title.

Juniors Mike Ferdinandi and Mike Colicchia each scored twice and sophomore Chris Novella had a goal and an assist. Senior Matt Lach also scored, while senior Jake Dudics won 17 of 21 face-offs and picked up 14 ground balls. Sophomore goalie Billy Patten made nine saves.

 

Middletown North 10, Toms River East 6

Senior Hayden Fairhurst had three goals, one assist and five ground balls while senior Connor Hedlund sank three goals with two assists to power the Lions (4-2) to victory over the Raiders (0-5).

Senior Bryan Flannigan also had three goals and one assist while senior Khristian Acosta finished with a goal and an assist and junior Brock Zenker dished out two assists. Freshman Alec Zenker won 12 of 20 face-offs and picked up seven ground balls, and senior Ryan Humphrey made seven saves to earn the win in goal.

 

No. 9 Wall 17, Neptune 4

Senior attackman Mike Steppe scored six goals and added three assists to power the Crimson Knights (4-1) against the Scarlet Fliers (1-4).

Tim O'Hern had three goals and four assists and Mike McIntyre had four goals and two assists.

 

Jackson Memorial 9, Colts Neck 4

John Chitren scored a game-high four goals and added one assist to fuel the Jaguars (2-3) in their victory over the Cougars (1-5).

Santo Parazzo scored two goals with one assist and Aidan Schell had a goal and three assists. Corey McKay and Logan Reese also scored for Jackson.

Logan Afonso, Chris Bisignano, Nick DiBella and Jack Schaefer each scored for Colts Neck while senior goalie Andrew Halmi made 11 saves.

 

Toms River North 7, St. Rose 4

 

 

NONCONFERENCE

No. 4 CBA 11, Peddie 4

Senior midfielder John Salcedo scored three goals and added two assists, and junior attackman Nick Casner fired in three goals as the Colts (2-3) snapped a two-game losing streak by topping the Falcons (1-2).

Sophomore attackman Michael Carroll had a goal and an assist.

 

Allentown 15, Barnegat 7

Senior midfielder J.J. McKenna scored three times and senior attackman Ryan Reynolds had two goals and one assist as the Bengals (1-4) fell to the Redbirds (2-3). Senior Joe Jinks added a goal and an assist.
