Shore Conference Tournament

Quarterfinals

(1) Rumson-Fair Haven 14, (9) Red Bank 4

The Bulldogs (15-0) scored eight times in the second half to pull away from the Bucs (9-6) and advance to the SCT semifinals. Senior midfielder Patrick Jamin erupted for six goals and three assists and junior attackman Dan Garvey had a hat trick plus one assist to lead the offense.

Senior attackman Luke Devlin and junior attackman Christian Bockelmann each totaled two goals and one assist while sophomore attackman Cole Cashion had a goal and three assists. Senior goalie Ryan Croddick made eight saves to earn the win in goal.

Red Bank was led by sophomore Ryder Villani, who scored two goals with one assist, and senior Gordon Odgen, who made 18 saves. Senior Nick Walsack had a goal and an assist and senior Ryan McGee scored once.

Rumson will host fourth-seeded Wall in the semifinals on Thursday.

 

(4) Wall 8, (5) Shore 6

Sophomore attackman John McCurry scored the go-ahead goal with 3:37 left in regulation and the Crimson Knights held on to defeat the Blue Devils and reach the SCT semifinals for the first time in program history.

McCurry's goal broke a 6-6 tie and senior midfielder Ryan Brice added a short-handed goal with 1:35 left to provide an insurance tally. Wall will face top-seeded Rumson-Fair Haven in the semifinals on Thursday.

Senior attackman Logan Peters led all players with three goals and five assists, including his 100th career assist and assists on the game-winning goal and Brice's late goal. The Rutgers signee is the first player in program history with 100 goals and 100 assists. McCurry and Brice each scored twice and junior midfielder Matt Dollive scored once.

Senior FOGO Kyle Wenzel won 9 of 17 faceoffs and junior goalie Aiden Kessler made eight saves for Wall (13-2).

Freshman midfielder Sam Madalone had two goals and one assist, junior midfielder Jamie Mazzacco scored twice and junior attackman Carson Cooke had a goal and two assists. Sophomore goalie Walker Hunter made 10 saves and senior FOGO Sean O'Brien won 8 of 17 face-offs.

Wall took a 1-0 lead on Peters' 60th goal of the season midway through the first quarter but Shore then went on a 4-0 run on goals by Andrew Decker, Mazzacco and Cooke. Wall answered with three goals in the final 3:25 of the first half to knot the score 4-4 at halftime.

The teams alternated goals from there until Wall went ahead for good on McCurry's goal.

 

(3) CBA 8, (6) Southern 2

Senior attackman Dan Martin scored three goals, including the 100th of his career, as the Colts advanced to the SCT semifinals by defeating the Rams for the second time this season.

Martin's goal at 9:51 of the third quarter put him at the century mark for his career. He added another goal in the fourth quarter and is the 11th player in program history to reach 100 career goals.

Senior midfielder Terrance Lacewell and sophomore attackman Nick Blalock had two goals and one assist each and senior goalie Noah D'Andrea had another strong game with 13 saves. Senior Michael DeRosa scored once and senior Jared Lucich went 8-for-13 on face-offs.

Junior midfielders Ryan Sininsky and Zach Washco scored for Southern and junior goalie Tyler Sininsky made nine saves.

CBA will travel to Manasquan for an SCT semifinal game on Thursday. It will be a rematch of a regular-season game won by Manasquan, 9-8.

 

(2) Manasquan 21, (7) Howell 6

Senior midfielder Hayden Grecsek scored a career-high five goals with one assist, senior attackman Casey Mulligan delivered four goals and two assists and junior midfielder Robert Pendergist sank four goals as the three-time defending SCT champion Warriors (12-2) overwhelmed the Rebels (10-5) to advance to the SCT semifinals for the sixth straight season.

Junior FOGO Max Pauwels went 16-for-24 at the face-off X and junior goalie Carter Groezinger made six saves. Senior midfielder Mike Farinacci, senior attackman Owen McCusker and senior defenseman Mike Farrell each tallied a goal and an assist while senior attackman Tyler Watts, junior midfielders Niland DiLuchio and Dan Dyland, sophomore attackman Matt Porazzo and sophomore midfielder James Farinacci each scored once. Senior goalie Cam Perna also saw time in goal and made three saves.

Junior midfielders Doug MacKenzie and Tyler Burns each scored twice and junior goalie Colin Fay made 18 saves for Howell. Vincent Burns added a goal and an assist and Dax Kukan scored once. Sophomore goalie Christian Schrader also saw time in goal and finished with two saves.

Manasquan will host CBA in the semifinals on Thursday. The Warriors defeated the Colts, 9-8, during the regular season.

 

Regular Season

Class A South

Brick Memorial 18, Toms River North 5

Senior midfielder Darren Romaine scored six goals and added one assist and junior attackman Dan Aulisi totaled a game-high eight points on three goals and five assists as the Mustangs (12-4, 5-1) defeated the Mariners (4-7, 3-4) to tie the program record for wins in a season.

Luke Ray scored twice, won 23 of 25 faceoffs, and picked up 20 ground balls and PJ Mazzeo made five saves. Also pacing the offense was Chris Marks with three goals, Rob Beshears with two goals, Filipe Correia with a goal and two assists and Jake Gallo with a goal and an assist. Josh Youmans also saw time in goal and made two saves.

 

Class B South

No. 10 St. Rose 18, Donovan Catholic 7

Senior attackman Brendan Dwyer and senior midfielder Logan LeMoult combined for 12 goals and 16 points as the Purple Roses (12-5, 2-3) rolled to a victory over the Griffins (3-6, 0-4).

Dwyer had a game-high nine points on six goals and three assists and LeMoult scored six goals with one assist. Colin Westhoven added two goals and two assists and won 10 of 15 faceoffs. James Magrini had two goals and one assist, Tim Keegan had a goal and three assists and Morgan Fahy scored once. Max MacEachern made seven saves in goal to earn the win.

 

Nondivisional

Marlboro 5, Toms River South 4

Senior attackman Finn Leahy scored four times in the fourth quarter to lead the way as the Mustangs (4-9) rallied for a victory over the Indians (2-10).

Senior attackman Jonathan Alverzo added a goal and an assist and senior goalie Bryden Delaney made seven saves. Sophomore LSM/defenseman Aiden Dubinski led the defense and came through with eight caused turnovers in the fourth quarter alone.

Shane Toal scored three goals and added one assist to lead Toms River South. Drew Gisinger scored once and Jacob Hull made 12 saves.
