CLASS A NORTH

No. 2 CBA 17, Middletown North 1

Senior attackman Connor Macrae tallied five goals and three assists and sophomore attackman Dan Martin also scored five goals to lead the Colts (4-3, 3-0) to a lopsided win over the Lions (3-4, 1-2).

Kyle Aldridge added a goal and two assists and Michael Sabol scored twice. Ryan Howard chipped in with one goal and one assist while Aidan Guinnessey, Ged Clark and defenseman Declan McGagh each scored once. Noah D'Andrea (one save) and C.J. Cummings (two saves) split time in goal.

Pete Abbes scored Middletown North's lone goal and Joey Dam made four saves.

 

No. 5 Howell 9, Marlboro 0

Sophomore attackman James Fay notched a hat trick and senior goalie Jared Jablonski made 10 saves to record his first career shutout as the Rebels (5-1, 2-1) blanked the Mustangs (1-3, 1-2).

Jared Badillo added two goals, Tyler Burns scored his first career goal, Vaugh Meehan had a goal and an assist and Logan Dennison contributed four assists. Jason Caston and Doug MacKenzie each scored once.

Sophomore goalie Bryden Deleany made eights saves for Marlboro.

 

No. 7 Middletown South 6, No. 9 Freehold Township 5

Sophomore midfielder Jason Allen scored the go-ahead goal with 30 seconds left in regulation to lift the Eagles (7-0, 3-0) to a thrilling victory over the Patriots (3-4, 1-3).

Senior midfielder Matt Tardy led Middletown South with three goals and one assist and sophomore attackman Connor Ard added two goals and one assist. Allen finished with one goal and one assist and Shane Murphy made 12 saves to backstop another very good defensive effort by the Eagles.

Junior attackman Brendan Doel led Freehold Township while two goals and one assist while senior goalie Aidan Purcell made 13 saves. Jake Liebross, Nick Elimanco and Kyle VonNessen had one goal each.

CLASS A SOUTH

Jackson Memorial 9, Toms River North 7

Santo Porazzo, Sean Laverty and Joe Iacobone each notched two goals and one assist while Chad Szatkowski made eight saves to lead the Jaguars (5-1, 3-0) to a key division victory over the Mariners (2-3, 2-1).

Matt DeRosa added one goal and one assist and Drew Walenty and Nick Perillo each scored once.

The win allowed the Jaguars to keep pace with Southern atop the division standings.

 

Brick Memorial 13, Toms River South 2

Felipe Correia poured in five goals to lead the Mustangs (3-4, 1-2) to a win over the Indians (1-4, 0-3).

Rex Freeman tallied two goals and three assists and Darren Romaine had one goal and four assists. Kyle Mueller won 14 of 18 face-offs and picked up eight ground balls. Luke Vojtko notched two goals, Jared Crippen had a goal and two assists and Chris Marks and Jackson Forsyth scored once. Jake White made six saves.

 

Jackson Liberty 7, Toms River East 3

Jake Bosco had two goals and two assists and Gavin Ferullo had two goals and one assist as the Lions (3-3, 2-2) topped the Raiders (1-4, 0-3).

Joe Granza added a goal and two assists, Nick Labianca had one goal and one assist and Michael Behm scored once. Sean Reid was great in goal with 18 saves to pick up the win.

Frank Giannetti scored all three goals for Toms River East.

 

CLASS B NORTH

No. 1 Manasquan 17, No. 8 St. John Vianney 3

Senior attackman Canyon Birch made history by scoring seven goals and adding two assists to record his 432nd career point and surpass CBA legend Tommy Duerr as the Shore Conference's all-time leading scorer.

Birch also reached the 300-goal milestone and now has 303 career goals and 129 assists in his illustrious career. The state records for goals and points are 362 and 468, respectively, and are held by A.L. Johnson's Matt Poskay.

Senior attackman Ryan Anderson added two goals and one assist while Casey Mulligan, Matt Franzoni and Mike Cielecki also scored twice. Mike Farinacci and Robert Pendergist scored once and Mike LaPoint made seven saves to backstop another superb defensive effort by Jack Fabean, Mike Page, Mike Farrell, Tommy Shaughnessy and company.

Anthony Brett scored twice, Nick Caruti scored once and C.J. Hanson made 14 saves for St. John Vianney.

Manasquan held a 52-11 advantage in shots.

 

Holmdel 19, Neptune 2

Kyle Kapcsos sank five goals and dished out two assists to pace the Hornets (5-2, 2-1) their win over the Scarlet Fliers (0-7, 0-2).

Justin Cohen added three goals and one assist, Liam McCann had two goals and one assist and Tom Ilvento also scored twice. Dan Tempone and Evan Cohen added one goal and two assists each while Ryan Bradley, Aidan Lagana, Joe Hammer, Kyle Polivka and Anthony DiMaio each scored once.

 

CLASS B SOUTH

Lacey 16, Barnegat 1

Senior attackman Dylan Vitale scored six goals to set a program record with 129 career goals and lead the Lions (5-0, 3-0) past the Bengals (1-6, 0-3).

Dominic Waltonowski added two goals and three assists and Mike Long also scored twice. Chris Augustine and Ryan Giles each had one goal and one assist while Steven Starner, Jake Kownacki, Mike Neri and Mike Kudlacik had one goal apiece. Mike Walizer made two saves to pick up the win.

 

St. Rose 11, Point Boro 8

Spencer Flynn and Colin Westhoven each scored three times and Max MacEachern made 10 saves to lead the Purple Roses (2-3, 2-0) to a comeback win over the Panthers (4-2, 3-1).

Point Boro led 5-2 after the first quarter before St. Rose scored four times in the second to forge a 6-6 tie at the half. Flynn also had one assist while Patrick Dwyer tallied two goals and two assists, Nolan Boehmcke had two goals and one assist and Logan LeMoult scored once.

Freshman Aidan Kirk led Point Boro with four goals, two assists and seven ground balls. Cormac McCabe added two goals and two assists, T.J. Polazzo scored twice and Parker Roncin made 15 saves.

 

 

NONDIVISIONAL

Red Bank 8, Donovan Catholic 4

Sophomore attackman Ryan McGee tallied three goals and two assists and junior midfielder Brady Gilmartin added one goal and four assists to lead the Bucs (5-2) past the Griffins (0-5).

Nick Walsack ad Nick Weitz each had one goal and one assist and Tor Haugenes and A.J. Abarno scored one goal apiece. Matt Gibson made 11 saves.

Trevor Barber scored twice and won 12 of 14 face-offs to lead Donovan Catholic. Andrew Schlendorf also scored twice, Will Duddy had two assists and Peter Rao made eight saves.

 

NONCONFERENCE

Red Bank Catholic 13, Pennington 8

Senior attackman Ryan Schellin posted six goals and two assists to lead the Caseys (3-3) to a victory over the Red Raiders (0-5).

Jack Pollackov tallied a hat trick along with one assist and Jack Frisina added a goal and two assists. Jack Zenkert, Brennan Frederick and Kyle Boggio each finished with one goal and one assist. Declan Grigg made 14 saves to pick up the win and Luke Gueci collected a game-high eight ground balls.
