CLASS A NORTH

No. 7 Howell 12, Marlboro 2

Joey Sorrentino registered four goals and two assists and Chase Burke notched a hat trick with one assist as the Rebels (5-2, 3-1) ran past the Mustangs (0-6, 0-4).

Logan Dennison had two goals and two assists, Jared Badillo had a goal and two assists and Vaughn Meehan went 15-for-17 on face-offs. Jimmy Belknap and Anthony Cinelli tallied their first career goals and Nick Roberto made six saves.

 

CLASS A SOUTH

No. 3 Southern 9, No. 8 Jackson Memorial 4

Senior midfielder Ryan Comfort registered a hat trick and attackmen Aniello Russo and Cade Johnson each scored twice as the Rams (6-1, 3-0) knocked the Jaguars (5-1, 2-1) from the ranks of the unbeaten with a critical division win.

Senior midfielder Ryan McWhorter added a goal and two assists and junior attackman Nick Fontana scored once. Luke Maul made three saves in goal and Anthony Firmani went 8-for-14 on face-offs.

Sean Laverty had two goals and Nick Perillo and Joe Iacobone each scored once for Jackson. Yael Bonilla made five saves.

 

Toms River North 11, Brick Memorial 10

Zach Mara tallied four goals and one assist and Cody Kromer had a hat trick as the Mariners (3-1, 1-0) edged the Mustangs (1-5, 0-2).

Brandon Indelicato added two goals and two assists, Hayden Baranker had a goal and four assists and Ian Briggs scored once. Dan Casadonte made seven saves and Brett Singer went 16-for-23 on face-offs.

Senior attackman Joey Ferrara led Brick Memorial with five goals and one assist. Matt Ingenito added three goals and four assists, Dawson Heath scored twice and Jake White made 13 saves.

 

CLASS B NORTH

Ocean 7, No. 9 St. John Vianney 6

The Spartans (5-2, 2-1) rallied with three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to upend the ninth-ranked Lancers (3-3, 1-1). Mike Nies led all players with a hat trick while Holden Lowe, Dale Alto, Mike Kircher and Richie Bianchi each scored once.

Anthony Brett had two goals, two assists and nine ground balls, Andrew Gosse had two goals and one assist and C.J. Hanson made 19 saves for St. John Vianney. Mike D'Anzeri and Andrew Gentile each scored once and James Guilbert picked up 10 ground balls.

 

Shore 13, Red Bank 4

Junior midfielder Gil Goldsmith had a huge game with five goals and four assists and senior attackman Ryan Morris sank four goals and dished out two assists as the Blue Devils (6-1, 2-0) extended their winning streak to six games by downing the Bucs (2-6, 0-2).

Justin Murphy added two goals, Jake Turner had four assists and Tom Bocco and Terry Carlstrom each tallied one goal and one assist. Scott Sirianni made seven saves and Matt O'Donnell went 12-for-20 on face-offs.

Tor Haugenes scored twice, Dean Hottman and Seamus Cochrane had one goal apiece and Matt Gibson made six saves for Red Bank.

Donovan Catholic 11, Mater Dei 4

Trevor Barber fired in three goals, added two assists and went 13-for-15 on face-offs as the Griffins (1-4) picked up their first win of the season by defeating the Seraphs (1-5).

Andy Schlendorf scored four goals, Will Duddy had two goals and one assist, Dan Murphy had one goal and two assists and Jake Bidwell scored once. Peter Rao made five saves.

 

Middletown North 5, Point Boro 1

Sophomore attackman Pete Abbes scored four goals and freshman goalie Joey Dam made eight saves as the Lions (4-3) held the Panthers (3-5) to pick up a nondivisional win.

Junior attackman Quinn Aker had three assists and nine ground balls, junior midfielder Joe Blackwood scored once and junior Alec Zenker went 7-for-9 on face-offs.

NONCONFERENCE

Neptune 11, Steinert 9

Kevin Clohosey scored four goals and Nick Brown and Jahi Neely tallied three goals apiece to pace the Scarlet Fliers (2-4) in their victory over the Spartans (3-4).

Ryan Gannon scored once, Seamus McAnee made eight saves and Chase Fairbanks collected a game-high 15 ground balls. Tyron Puryear added 11 ground balls.
