CLASS A NORTH

No. 10 Freehold Township 12, Middletown South 5

Sophomore attackman Chris Novella sank five goals with one assist and junior attackman Josh Nastarowicz had two goals and five assists as the Patriots (8-3, 4-1) downed the Eagles (6-7, 3-3) to push their winning streak to five games.

Junior midfielder Mike Ferdinandi had a hat trick, junior attackman Drew Dunn had one goal and three assists and senior midfielder Matt Lach scored once. Senior Jake Dudics won 15 of 21 face-offs and sophomore goalie Billy Patten made five saves.

 

CLASS A SOUTH

Toms River East 8, Jackson Memorial 5

Sophomore attackman Sal Esposito scored four goals with one assist to lead the Raiders (2-8, 2-4) past the Jaguars (3-11, 0-6). Senior goalie Jake Dallago made eight saves.

Freshman Santo Porazzo and sophomore Rob Stiuso each scored twice for Jackson. Yael Bonilla made 12 saves.

 

Toms River South 11, Lacey 10 (OT)

 

CLASS B NORTH

No. 1 Rumson-Fair Haven 13, No. 4 Ocean 4

Senior attackman Robbie Garavente scored seven goals and the Bulldogs defense smothered the dynamic attack of the Spartans to win a battle of top-five teams.

The Bulldogs (9-3, 6-0) opened a 6-1 halftime lead and scored the first six goals of the fourth quarter to blow the game open. Garavente had four goals in the first half and three more in the second as Rumson took a major step toward securing its sixth straight division  title.

Junior midfielder Bryan Hess had two goals and two assists, senior attackman Henry Sillen had three assists and junior attackman Charlie Curran had one goal and one assist. Colin Pavluk, Matt Waters and Andrew Walsh each scored once. Senior goalie Kyle Knapp made eight saves and senior Butch Clark went 9 for 15 on face-offs.

Freshman Holden Lowe scored twice for Ocean while senior Erik Rant and junior Sam Hanna each scored once. Senior Joey Appio had three assists and senior David Walk made 13 saves.

CLASS B SOUTH

No. 9 Wall 12, Barnegat 6

Senior attackman Mike Steppe scored six goals and added two assists while sophomore attackman Michael McIntyre had four goals and one assist to fuel the Crimson Knights (10-2, 5-1) in their victory over the Bengals (4-7, 2-3).

Sophomore attackman Tim O'Hern added one goal and three assists and senior midfielder Lucas Iarossi had one goal and one assist. Senior Casey Foley and sophomore Will Forte each had two assists, and senior goalie Zach Harrell made 10 saves. Foley and junior defenseman Joey Belko each had a game-high seven ground balls.
