RUMSON — Some of the top youth players in the area offered a glimpse of the future of Shore Conference lacrosse on Wednesday during the Shore Conference Lacrosse Coaches Association Youth All-Star Game.

Incoming Rumson freshman Doug Duprey was selected as the game’s most valuable player for making 15 saves and backstopping the North All-Stars to a 9-5 win over the South All-Stars at Rumson-Fair Haven’s Borden Stadium.

“It was really fun,” Duprey said. “I thought it was an amazing opportunity to play in this and I was really excited I was chosen.”

Two of Duprey’s future high school teammates also had standout games as attackman Jack Whitelaw had a game-high three goals and one assist and midfielder Rowan Goldin had two goals and two assists. Attackman Jack Zenkert (Red Bank Catholic), attackman Sam Mannino (Rumson), midfielder Nick Emilio (CBA) and attackman Ethan Doyle (CBA) also scored for the North team. Scotty Sirianni (Shore) made four saves.

Midfielder Anthony Brett (St. John Vianney), attackman Brendan Doel (Monroe), attackman Cade Johnson (Southern), midfielder Alex Smith (Toms River East) and attackman Matt Franzoni (St. John Vianney) scored for the South All-Stars. Goalie C.J. Cummings (CBA) made seven saves.
