CLASS B NORTH

No. 4 Ocean 16, Red Bank Catholic 12

Senior attackman Joey Appio recorded his 200th career assist and 300th career point as the Spartans (11-1, 7-1) rebounded with a win over the Caseys (7-6, 3-4). Senior midfielder Connor Daly scored his 100th career goal.

Red Bank Catholic led 7-5 at halftime before Ocean exploded for eight goals in the third quarter to take a 13-8 lead.

 

Shore 16, Red Bank 11

Senior midfielder Jack Britton had seven goals and three assists to join a select group of players that have scored 10 or more points in a game this season, while also recording his 100th career point, as the Blue Devils (9-4, 5-2) won a high-scoring battle with the Bucs (6-9, 4-4).

Senior midfielder Doug Goldsmith also reached a career milestone with his 100th goal, finishing with four goals and three assists. Sophomore attackman Ryan Morris had three goals and two assists and freshman midfielder Gil Goldsmith scored twice and also had two assists. Ean Delahantey and Jack McCrae each had one assist, senior goalie Hunter Avallone made eight saves and senior Michael Lithgow went 17 for 27 on face-offs.

Junior attackman Kent Hoffman led Red Bank with four goals and one assist while senior attackman Cole Smolokoff had three goals and one assist. Senior goalie Jon Pierce made 18 saves, including the 900th of his career, to vault to third all-time in career saves in state history. Senior Brian Fagan and sophomore Dan Bonanno each scored twice.

 

CLASS B SOUTH

No. 2 Manasquan 18, Donovan Catholic 2

Junior attackman Jarrett Birch scored five goals with two assists and freshman attackman Canyon Birch had four goals and two assists as the Warriors (10-2, 5-0) slammed the door on the Griffins (2-9, 0-4).

Senior midfielder Paul Krueger had four goals and junior attackman Joe Tonkovich dished out five assists.

 

NONDIVISIONAL

No. 3 Southern 11, No. 6 Howell 8

Senior attackman Nick Simonelli scored four goals and added two assists while senior Jon Manzo scored three times and junior Will Johnson tallied twice as the Rams (10-0) held off a late rally by the Rebels (8-5) to remain the Shore Conference's only undefeated team.

Senior Jimmy Manzo added one goal and one assist, junior Kyle Mulrane scored once and junior goalie Tristan Farina made 13 saves.

Southern led 7-4 at halftime and 9-5 heading into the fourth quarter before Howell closed to within 9-7, then 10-8, before Mulrane's goal with 6:06 to play accounted for the final margin.

Junior midfielder Nico Lorenzo had three goals and one assist while senior midfielders Nic Rossi and Jason Kenny scored twice for the Rebels. Junior midfielder Jake Goldberg scored once and sophomore goalie Nick Roberto made 15 saves.

 

No. 8 Brick Memorial 16, Ranney 3

Junior attackman Gavin Murphy scored four goals and four assists to lead the Mustangs (10-2) past the Panthers (0-9).

Junior midfielder Mike Mowder had three goals and one assist and senior attackman Billy Porter also had a hat trick. Sophomore attackman Joey Ferrara scored twice, junior Adam Plumacher had one goal, two assist and 12 ground balls and Steven Assante and Victory Gomez each had one goal and one assist. Trevor Courtwright scored once and Chris Sayers made five saves.

 

St. Rose 9, Toms River East 6

Sophomore attackman Shane Reilly scored four times to power the Purple Roses (3-6) past the Raiders (2-9).

Junior attackman Griffin McDermott and Chris Bormida each scored twice while sophomore midfielder Matt Kinsel tallied once.

 

No. 9 Wall 17, Middletown North 7

Senior attackman Mike Steppe scored five goals with one assist, sophomore attackman Michael McIntyre also had five goals and sophomore Tim O'Hern dealt out six assists as the Crimson Knights (11-2) ran past the Lions (6-8) to secure the program's 100th win.

The victory was also the 100th for head coach Chris Knight, who has guided Wall lacrosse since its inception. Senior midfielder Casey Foley had a hat trick, sophomore midfielder Connor Prindiville tallied twice and senior midfielder Lucas Iarossi had three assists. Senior goalie Zach Harrell made 13 saves. Freshman long stick midfielder Shane Meyler and sophomore attackman Jack Textor scored once.

Senior attackman Bryan Flannigan scored three times and senior midfielder Hayden Fairhurst had two goals and one assist for Middletown North. Senior Connor Hedlunkhad one goal and two assists, Shawn Haskins tallied once and junior goalie Jake Roche made eight saves.

 

Jackson Liberty 8, Middletown South 3

Senior attackman Tyler Kalmowitz scored four goals to lead the surging Lions (9-4) past the Eagles (6-8) for their sixth straight win.

Junior attackman Dylan O'Connor added two goals while sophomore midfielder Max Matthies and senior midfielder Walter Matthies each scored once. Senior goalie Chris Mulholland made eight saves.

Zach Albrecht, Alec Madden and Pat Walsh tallied for Middletown South.

 

Brick 11, Marlboro 1

 

NONCONFERENCE

Watchung Hills 9, No. 5 CBA 8 (OT)

Nick Casner and Shay Walczak each had two goals and once assist and John Salcedo scored twice for the Colts (7-5) in a road loss to the Warriors (6-5).

 

Neptune 10, Nottingham 4

Point Boro 12, Haddon Township 5
