SHORE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT

FIRST ROUND

8-Shore 12, 9-Jackson Liberty 11 (OT)

Freshman attackman Gil Goldsmith scored off a pass from older brother, senior midfielder Doug Goldsmith, 29 seconds into the first overtime as the Blue Devils (11-4) won a thriller over the Lions (10-5) at Feeney Field for their first ever Shore Conference Tournament victory.

Doug Goldsmith finished with four goals and four assists while senior midfielder Jack Britton had two goals and three assists. Sophomore attackman Ryan Morris had a hat trick, Gil Goldsmith scored twice and freshman attackman Jake Turner scored once. Senior goalie Hunter Avallone made 10 saves.

Shore advances to the quarterfinals where it will meet the winner of Saturday's game between top-seeded Rumson-Fair Haven and No. 16 Point Boro.

Turner's goal with 4:17 left in the fourth quarter capped a three-goal rally and put Shore up 11-10, but Jackson Liberty senior attackman Tyler Kalmowitz scored with 6.9 seconds left in regulation to knot the score at 11 and force overtime.

Kalmowitz and senior midfielder Christian Pongracz each had three goals while senior attackman Matt Ferullo scored twice. Max Matthies, Randy Vengen and Dylan O'Connor each scored once and senior goalie Chris Mulholland made 12 saves.

 

REGULAR SEASON

NONDIVISIONAL

Brick 7, Middletown South 6 (OT)

Mickey Holland finished with four goals and two assists, including the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Dragons (5-9) over the Eagles (6-10).

Rich Cosgrove had one goal and three assists and Anthony DiCristina and Jonathan Ling each scored once. Tyler Palmer was outstanding in goal with 23 saves.
