(6) St. John Vianney 67, (11) Wall 49

Sophomore Dylan Seay scored 18 points and senior Nate Williams pitched in 16 to help the Lancers (2-0), which had 11 players score a point and did not attempt a single free throw, cruise to a win over the Crimson Knights (0-2).

Senior Chris Mitchell led Wall with a game-high 19 points.

(3) Manasquan 62, (14) Colts Neck 41

Freshman Darius Adams scored 16 of his game-high 21 points in the first half and the Warriors (1-1) rolled to a win over the Cougars (0-1) to reach the WOBM quarterfinals on Dec. 27 against St. John Vianney at 4:15 p.m.

Sophomore Ryan Frauenheim poured in 20 points for the second time in as many days for Manasquan and senior Matt Solomon added eight.

Juniors Jacob Gold Will Surdez each scored seven points to lead Colts Neck, which will play again in the consolation round next Sunday in the arena against Wall at 4 p.m.

(10) Jackson Memorial 46, (7) Central 41

Junior Samir Padilla scored 13 points to go with six steals as the Jaguars (2-0) held off a late push from the Golden Eagles (1-1) to advance to the WOBM quarterfinals on Monday, Dec. 27.

Jackson Memorial built a 25-12 lead late in the second quarter, bur Central chipped away with a 17-5 run over the last minute of the first half and the duration of the third quarter.

Sophomore Brayden Lowden drained a game-tying three-pointer late in the fourth to make it 36-36 and Jackson Memorial came right back with five unanswered points. Central got its deficit down to 44-41 and had a chance to tie it with a three-pointer in the final 15 seconds, but junior Respect Tyler blocked a three-point attempt by sophomore Miles Chevalier and scored on the other end to finish off the Jaguars win.

Junior Keith Adame added 11 points for Jackson Memorial and junior Mehki Cherry pitched in eight off the bench.

Chevalier led Central with 14 points and Lowden poured in nine off the bench. Jackson Memorial's defensive effort held Central senior Justin Soranno -- who posted 35 points and 12 rebounds in a season-opening win over Lacey Friday night -- to five points and without a field goal.

(2) Red Bank Catholic 86, (15) Toms River South 35

Senior C.J. Ruoff scored 12 of his game-high 17 points in the first quarter and all 10 active Caseys players scored in a rout of the Indians (1-1). Red Bank Catholic (2-0) will take on Jackson Memorial in the WOBM quarterfinals on Dec. 27 at 5:45 p.m.

Sophomore Tyler Burnham added 16 points -- including 14 in the second half --  and classmate Gioacchino Panzini poured in 11 of his 13 in the first quarter, during which Red Bank Catholic raced out to a 30-11 lead.

Senior Gavin Migliori led Toms River South with nine points. Toms River South will play play Central next in the consolation round next Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

(5) Manchester 65, (12) Middletown South 40

Seniors D'Maari Brown and Savon Myers both filled up the stat sheet and the Hawks (2-0) caught fire late in the second quarter to storm past the Eagles (0-2) and into the WOBM quarterfinals.

Brown scored a game-high 21 points, shot 6-for-10 from beyond the three-point arc, dished out five assists and picked off three steals. Myers, meanwhile, put up 17 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks.

Senior Jordan Dupont and junior Evan Weiner each added eight points for Manchester, which ripped off a 33-6 run that spanned the end of the first half and the beginning of the fourth quarter, turning a 20-19 deficit into a 52-26 lead.

Senior James Mayerhofer led Middletown South with 15 points.

(13) Donovan Catholic 64, (4) Freehold Twp. 50

Senior Jalin Butler led a balanced offensive attack with 13 points and the Griffins (1-1) upended the Patriots (1-1) to reach the Dec. 27 quarterfinals against No. 5 Manchester.

Senior Kyree Drake added 12 points, Dylan Espineli poured in 10 off the bench, seniors Vinny Coburn and Dylan Orosz netted nine each and senior Alex Melon chipped in eight.

Donovan Catholic went up 50-35 early in the fourth before Freehold Township ripped off nine straight points to cut the deficit to 50-44 by the six-minute mark. Melon and Espineli came up with big steals as the Griffins responded with a 10-1 run to push their lead back to 15.

Junior Jayden Holmes-Cotter scored a game-high 27 points to lead Freehold Township, which played without starters Bobby O'Brien and Malachi Harris (illness). The Patriots will play Middletown South in next Sunday's consolation round at 4 p.m. in the Toms River North gym.

(9) Brick Memorial 67, (8) Toms River North 51

Junior Josh Michigan led four Brick Memorial players in double-figures with 22 points and the Mustangs (1-0) rode a red-hot second half to a win over the Mariners (0-2) in their 2021-22 season opener.

Senior Luke Braaten added 14 points and eight rebounds, junior Brian Starrett had 11 points and six assists and junior Dorian Alston poured in 10 for Brick Memorial, which won the second-half scoring, 43-26. Michigan scored 12 of his points in the second half, Braaten scored 10 of his 14 after the break and Starrett nine of his 11 post-halftime.

Senior Ryan Baker led Toms River North with 18 points and classmate Lamir Mitchell added 10 in the loss.

(1) Marlboro 86, (16) Toms River East 33

Senior Jack Seidler scored 17 of his game-high 18 points in the first half and classmate Jon Spatola added 17 to spark the Mustangs (2-0) to a comfortable win over the Raiders (0-2).

Sohan Eleti scored nine of his 11 points in the second half and Alex Frank poured in al 10 of his points in the fourth quarter for Marlboro, which plays No. 9 Brick Memorial in the quarterfinals on Dec. 27 at 9 p.m.
