Class A North

No. 5 Neptune 58, Howell 45

Senior Jared Kimbrough scored a game-high 17 points to go with 14 rebounds and the Scarlet Fliers (13-4, 10-1) rode a hot start to a win over the Rebels (9-6, 4-6).

Junior Dwaine Jones added 15 points and freshman Sam Fagan chipped in 11 points for Neptune, which stormed out to a 16-0 lead.

Senior Eddie Morales led Howell with 17 points and senior Brandon Wilson added 13 in the loss.

No. 4 CBA 70, Freehold Boro 47

Junior Josh Cohen scored 27 points and the Colts (12-3, 10-0) ran away with a win over the Colonials (2-14, 0-10) for their ninth straight win.

Senior Rob Mahala added 15 points, junior Liam Kennedy pitched in 13 and senior Nolan Madden poured in nine for CBA.

Senior Ashante Worthy led Freehold Boro with 16 points while freshman Jiasion Carpenter and Ryan Neely each added 10 in the loss.

No. 6 Colts Neck 71, Freehold Twp. 36

Senior Ben Bosland turned in a triple-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the Cougars (13-2, 8-2) to a rout of the Patriots (6-10, 3-8). Bosland also picked off three steals.

Senior Dan Gaines scored a game-high 22 points to lead Colts Neck, which outscored Freehold Township, 18-5, in the first quarter and 18-4 in the fourth.

Junior Greg Billups led Freehold Township with eight points.

 

Class A Central

No. 10 Matawan 56, Raritan 47

Senior Mike Dunne put up 26 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two blocks and the Huskies (14-3, 7-2) used a strong start to top the Rockets (8-9, 3-7). Dunne also knocked down six three-pointers.

Junior Ethan Okelo added 10 points for Matawan, which stormed out to a 37-20 halftime lead over Raritan.

Senior Zach Mojica led Raritan with 11 points while juniors Tim Hayes and Rob LaVilla each contributed 10 points.

 

Class A South

Brick Memorial 39, Southern 38

Juniors Matt Bernstein and Nick Manso scored 13 points apiece and the Mustangs (10-7, 8-3) held on to beat the Rams (9-8, 6-5).

Junior Vinnie Deck led Southern with 15 points and four assists.

No. 8 Toms River North 71, Jackson Memorial 42

Senior Travis Holland scored 16 points to go with seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks as the Mariners (15-3, 10-0) rolled to a win over the Jaguars (3-14, 2-8) - their 42nd straight against A South competition.

Senior Holden Petrick and sophomore Najae Hallenback each added nine points, with Hallenback also pulling in nine rebounds and Petrick pitching in three assists and five steals.

Senior Alex Cabrera led Jackson Memorial with 10 points.

Central 50, Toms River South 36

Junior Darius Martorano scored 24 points and senior Tom Ruscitti contributed 16 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Golden Eagles (5-13, 3-8) to a win over the Indians (2-14, 1-10).

Sophomore Jalen Folsom led Toms River South with 15 points.

 

Class B Central

St. Rose at Henry Hudson, 5 p.m.

Keansburg 59, Keyport 46

Senior Danny Vital scored a game-high 23 points and the Titans (5-11, 3-9) topped the rival Red Raiders (2-13, 1-10). Paul Eckleberry and Justin Alessi added 11 points each for Keansburg.

Sophomore C.J. Johnson led Keyport with 15 points.

Point Beach 72, Asbury Park 37

Senior Mohamed Traore scored 22 points and the Garnet Gulls (11-6, 7-3) routed the Blue Bishops (8-9, 5-6) for their fourth straight win.

Senior Trevor Covey added 17 points and classmate Danny Frauenheim pitched in 12 for Point Beach.

 

Class B South

Lakewood 65, Manchester 48

Sophomore Ryan Savoy put up 22 points, 18 rebounds and seven blocks to lead the Piners (10-7, 8-3) past the Hawks (1-13, 1-9).

Senior Jyheir Jones added 13 points and senior Khari Jenkins poured in 12 for Lakewood.

Senior Jesse Devero poured in 15 points and senior Mike Richardson added 13 points to lead Manchester.

Point Boro 55, Jackson Liberty 40

Senior Connor Strickland scored 19 points and the Panthers (12-3, 9-1) pulled away to beat the Lions (7-10, 3-8). Senior John Duda added 13 points for Point Boro.

Junior Daniel Sofield led Jackson Liberty with 14 points.

Barnegat 53, Lacey 48

Senior Alex Grogan led a balanced scoring effort with 14 points and the Bengals (11-5, 6-4) battled their way past the Lions (5-10, 3-8).

Seniors Mike Revello and Carson Francisco each added 13 points for Barnegat, which turned the game in its favor by outscoring Lacey, 12-1, during the third quarter.

Junior Carl Swensen led Lacey with a game-high 25 points and Anthony Clayton poured in 11 points in the loss.

Pinelands 55, Donovan Catholic 50

Junior Andrew Schulz scored 17 points to lead a balanced scoring effort and the Wildcats (9-7, 7-3) rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to race past the Griffins (7-9, 5-6).

Junior Anthony Diaz added 15 points and sophomore Ryan Skeie added 11 for Pinelands, which outscored Donovan Catholic, 16-7, in the third quarter to turn a 32-24 deficit into a 40-39 lead heading into the fourth.

Senior Nik Ferraro led Donovan Catholic with 18 points, six rebounds and three assists to lead Donovan Catholic while classmate Anthony Silvestrone chipped in 15 points in the loss.
