Class A North

Freehold Boro 51, Manalapan 40

Senior Jermaine Moore scored 14 points on four three-pointers and the Colonials (2-13, 2-7) downed the Braves (2-12, 0-9) for the second time this season. Senior Justice Jubilee and sophomore Quincy Davis each added 11 points, with Davis also hauling in 11 rebounds.

CBA 62, Howell 44

Sophomore Liam Kennedy scored a game-high 18 points and the Colts (10-5, 5-4) beat the Rebels (4-10, 2-7) to sweep the season series. Senior Lucas Waraksa added 13 points for CBA, while junior Nasiem Brantley led Howell with 15.

No. 8 Marlboro 57, Colts Neck 45

Senior P.J. Ringel scored 18 points to go with 10 rebounds and five steals as the Mustangs (10-4, 7-2) pulled away to beat the Cougars (8-6, 5-4) for the second time this season. Junior Dylan Kaufman added 13 points for Marlboro.

Junior Dan Gaines led Colts Neck with 18 points and junior Ben Bosland added 11 in defeat.

No. 3 Freehold Twp. 67, No. 6 Neptune 39

Senior Bobby Weise and Ja'zeem Foster scored 18 points each to lead four Freehold Township players in double-figures as the Patriots (15-0, 9-0) hammered the Scarlet Fliers (9-5, 6-3) for the second time this season. Weise connected on four three-pointers in the first half and grabbed six rebounds, while Foster scored 14 points in the second half and added three steals.

Senior Steve Staklinski scored all 12 of his points in the first half, while senior Ryan Zyskowski added 11 points for Freehold Township.

Sophomore D.J. Jones led Neptune with 12 points off the bench.

 

Class A Central

Holmdel 46, Raritan 43

Senior Nick Harris scored a game-high 16 points and the Hornets (6-6, 5-3) edged the Rockets (5-9, 2-6) in a game that was tight throughout. Senior Mike Simurro added 10 points and junior Tim Zhou netted nine for Holmdel.

Senior Justin Black led Raritan with 11 points.

No. 4 Rumson-Fair Haven 59, Matawan 58

Junior Jack Solano was fouled on a three-point attempt with two second left and knocked down two of the three attempts to give the Bulldogs (12-1, 7-0) a narrow win over the Huskies (7-7, 4-4) just two days after Rumson narrowly lost to Roselle Catholic. The loss also snaps a five-game winning streak by Matawan.

Freshman John Buekers scored on a feed from junior Reggie Tawiah with eight seconds left to give Matawan a 58-57 lead before Solano came back down and drew the contact that led to the winning free throws.

Solano finished with 15 points while sophomore Ian O'Connor led Rumson with 17. Senior Tyler Pierson also poured in 15 points for the Bulldogs, who still have yet to lose against Shore Conference competition.

Senior Patrick Hennessy led Matawan with 17 points and junior Mike Dunne flirted fell just shy of a triple-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Tawaiah finished with 14 points as well.

Class A South

No. 5 Toms River North 69, Southern 63

Senior Jaden Rhoden scored 18 points and grabbed 10 boards to help the Mariners (15-1, 8-0) hold off the Rams (4-12, 2-7) and remain unblemished in Class A South. Junior Holden Petrick added 16 points and senior Darrion Carrington pitched in 14 points and seven assists. Senior Mike Husni also threw in nine points off the bench.

Senior Mark Valeriani led Southern with a game-high 25 points thanks to six three-pointers. Junior Jake DuBois added 15 points, four assists and three steals while junior Thomas Foster also scored 15 points for Southern.

Toms River East 60, Toms River South 52

Junior Zyaire Dorn scored 18 points and the Raiders (3-9, 1-8) topped the crosstown-rival Indians (4-8, 3-5) to earn their first win in Class A South. Junior Trevor Zabilowicz added 14 points and junior Nick Shortino pitched in 10 points, five rebounds and five assists. Junior Nick Silvia also contributed seven points and 14 rebounds and sparked his team with a big dunk in the fourth quarter.

Senior Jake Regan led Toms River South with 18 points and senior Jason Porter scored 12 in the loss.

 

Class B North

Wall 69, Middletown South 41

Senior Gene Scott scored 19 points and the Crimson Knights (7-7, 4-5) routed the Eagles (3-12, 2-7). Junior Steve Geis and freshman Quinn Calabrese each added 14 points for Wall.

Junior Ryan Purcell led Middletown South with 16 points.

Long Branch 56, Ocean 44

Junior Tyree Morris scored a game-high 23 points and the Green Wave (9-4, 7-2) beat the Spartans (10-5, 4-5) for their seventh straight win and moved into a first-place tie with Manasquan in B North. Senior Cascius Briggs also pumped in 18 points for Long Branch, which began the season 1-4 before beginning its current streak.

Freshman Jack Miller scored 16 points to lead Ocean while junior Andrew Seager netted 12 in the loss.

Middletown North 69, Monmouth 55

Sophomore Rob Higgins led a balanced offensive attack with 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists as the Lions (9-6, 6-3) rolled to a win over the Falcons (2-12, 0-9).

Senior Matt Pinckney also scored 12 points for Middletown North and senior Marc Cerbo poured in 11 in the win. Senior Isaiah McDowell and juniors Sky Cherry and Dave Campbell all had eight points as well for Middletown North.

Senior Tyler Hawkins led Monmouth with a game-high 15 points.

Red Bank Catholic 55, No. 10 Manasquan 44

Senior Mike Conley stuck four three-pointers and scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Caseys (9-5, 6-3) to a key Class A Central win over the Warriors (10-5, 7-2). Senior Terence Calandrillo added 11 points and junior John Kelly poured in 10 for Red Bank Catholic.

Devin Jensen - the Shore's leading scorer entering play - scored just 10 points against the RBC defense Tuesday. Sophomore Brad McCabe also threw in nine points for Manasquan.

 

Class B Central

Keansburg 41, Henry Hudson 38

Junior Danny Vital scored 13 points and junior Paul Eckleberry put up 10 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Titans (7-5, 4-5) to a win over the Admirals (1-13, 1-7).

St. Rose 76, Asbury Park 43

Senior Brendan Hueth and junior Ethan Tombs each scored 14 points and the Purple Roses (9-5, 6-3) coasted to a win over the Blue Bishops (2-12, 2-7). Senior Billy Frost added 11 points and junior Sean Culley poured in 12 off the bench.

 

Class B South

Jackson Liberty 50, Pinelands 33

Sophomore Daniel Sofield scored 19 points, pulled in 16 boards and swiped three steals to lead the Lions (3-11, 3-6) to a win over the Wildcats (2-15, 1-8). Senior Nico Montano chipped in nine points and five assists for Jackson Liberty, while sophomore Anthony Diaz led Pinelands with eight points.

Manchester 54, Donovan Catholic 46

Senior L.J. Robinson scored a game-high 25 points to carry the Hawks (6-8, 4-5) to a road win over the first-place Griffins (8-6, 7-2). Junior Markese Davis and senior Zion Murunga each added eight points for Manchester.

Junior Joe San Fillippo led Donovan Catholic with 16 points and junior Anthony Silvestrone added 11 in defeat.
