Marlboro 50, Manalapan 37

Senior Ryan LaRocca scored 15 points and sophomore Dylan Kaufman chipped in 14 to lead the Mustangs (6-1, 4-0) past the Braves (2-6, 0-4). Senior John Lugo led Manalapan with 12 points while freshman Ryan Knorr poured in 11 in the loss.

No. 7 CBA 56, Freehold Boro 37

Sophomore Liam Kennedy scored 14 points and the Colts (5-1, 3-1) rolled to a win over the Colonials (1-7, 1-3). Sophomore Josh Cohen also scored 11 points, while junior Rob Mahala netted 10 and grabbed 13 rebounds for CBA.

Junior Ashante Worthy led Freehold Boro with a game-high 15 points to go with five rebounds and three steals.

No. 3 Freehold Twp. 40, Colts Neck 32

Senior Ryan Zyskowski scored 11 points and hauled in 10 rebounds as the Patriots (8-0, 4-0) outlasted the Cougars (4-4, 2-2) in a rematch of last year's thrilling NJSIAA Central Jersey Group IV championship game at Colts Neck.

Senior Steve Staklinski added 10 points for Freehold Township and sophomore Greg Billups scored all seven of his points during a 14-4 third-quarter run that helped the Patriots surge in front after trailing at halftime, 19-16.

Senior Brendan Clarke and junior Ben Bosland each scored nine points to lead Colts Neck.

Neptune 72, Howell 54

Junior Scott Fields led four Neptune players in double-figure scoring with 20 points and the Scarlet Fliers (4-3, 2-2) ripped the Rebels (1-6, 0-4) for their third straight win.

Junior Jared Kimbrough pitched in 18 points and 13 rebounds, senior Jules Calhoun scored 12 points and sophomore Dwaine Jones delivered 12 points, five rebounds and three assists for Neptune.

Junior Nasiem Brantley led Howell with a game-high 31 points.

 

Class A Central

Raritan 43, Matawan 41

Sophomore Tim Hayes put up 12 points and 12 rebounds to help the Rockets (3-5, 1-3) edge the Huskies (2-6, 1-3). Senior Rory Sullivan, junior Zach Mojica and senior Rob LaVilla each threw in eight points for Raritan.

Junior Mike Dunne led Matawan with 14 points and 10 rebounds while Ramon Estrada pitched in 13 points in the loss.

No. 10 Rumson-Fair Haven 51, Red Bank 35

Junior Teddy Sourlis drained five three-pointers and finished with 17 points as the Bulldogs (6-0, 3-0) pulled away for a win over the Bucs (4-4, 2-1) to extend their unbeaten start to the season. Sophomore Ian O'Connor added 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while senior Tyler Pierson posted seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks in the win.

Junior Devin Cooper scored all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter to lead Red Bank, while senior Connor McLoone scored seven of his nine in the first half. Rumson held Red Bank to nine points in the first half and went to the locker room with a 20-9 edge.

Shore 53, St. John Vianney 36

Sophomore Chris Panduri scored 19 points and classmate Kyle Koob added 13 to lead the Blue Devils (3-4, 1-2) past the Lancers (2-5, 1-3) for their third straight win following a 0-4 start.

 

Class A South

No. 4 Toms River North 61, Jackson Memorial 31

Senior Sean O'Donnell led a balanced scoring effort with 11 points and the Mariners (7-1, 3-0) coasted to a win over the Jaguars (4-3, 1-2). Senior Jaden Rhoden added 10 points in 10 rebounds while senior Darrion Carrington chipped in eight points and seven assists.

Senior Andrew Trent led Jackson Memorial with 10 points.

Brick Memorial 71, Southern 67 (OT)

Senior Gianni Linfante scored 20 points and junior Anthony Argondizza added 19 to help lead the Mustangs (3-4, 2-2) over the Rams (1-8, 0-3) for their third straight win after a 0-4 start. The win also gives Brick Memorial more wins than it had during its 2-19 season in 2015-16.

Junior Vin Hernandez added 12 points for Brick Memorial.

Senior Mark Valeriani scored a game-high 31 points to lead Southern. Junior Jake DuBois added 14 points and five rebounds, while senior Matt Mershon chipped in seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in defeat.

 

Class B North

No. 6 Manasquan 72, Middletown South 53

Sophomore Brad McCabe scored a game-high 18 points to go with six rebounds and the Warriors (6-2, 3-1) rolled to a win over the Eagles (2-6, 2-2).

Senior Devin Jensen poured in 17 points while grabbing 10 rebounds and senior Seamus Hogan contributed 15 points and seven boards in the win.

Junior Ryan Purcell led Middletown South with 22 points and junior Dave Gervase added 14 points in the loss.

Long Branch 56, Middletown North 45

Sophomore Marc Dennis scored a game-high 22 points and the Green Wave (3-4, 2-2) knocked off the Lions (4-4, 2-2). Junior Tyree Morris added 16 points for Long Branch.

Senior Marc Cerbo led Middletown North with 20 points. The Lions dropped their third game in their last four and played without sophomore guard Rob Higgins (wrist) for the third straight game. He injured his right wrist in the final seconds of a loss to Sayreville on Dec. 28 and will miss another one-to-two weeks, accorinding to Lions coach Mike Iasparro.

Red Bank Catholic 56, Monmouth 48

Senior Terence Calandrillo scored a game-high 25 points and the Caseys (5-3, 3-1) pulled out a win over the Falcons (1-5, 0-4), who were even with Red Bank Catholic at one point in the fourth quarter.

Junior Matt Ansell went 7-for-8 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter and finished 11-for-14 from the line to account for all of his scoring in the game.

Senior Tyler Hawkins led Monmouth with 16 points while Nick Cirlincione added nine in the loss.

Ocean 63, Wall 60

Freshman Jack Miller scored 18 points and handed out seven assists as the Spartans (6-2, 2-2) pulled out a win over the Crimson Knights (4-3, 2-2) to extend their winning streak to five.

Senior Darius Brown poured in 15 points for Ocean while senior Chris Vivian scored 12 off the bench to support the winning cause - including 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Junior Steve Geis led Wall with a game-high 22 points and senior teammate Gene Scott drained 21 in defeat.
