Ryan Zyskowski, Freehold Township

Freehold Township finished up one of the best seasons in program history by going as deep into the NJSIAA Tournament as any Patriots team ever. Unfortunately for them, that meant coming up one win shy of the program's first ever sectional championship for the third straight year.

Zyskowski was at the center of Freehold Township's four-game postseason run, joining with classmate Steve Staklinski to form a formidable front-court duo during the postseason and throughout the year. Zyskowski averaged 15.2 points and 9.25 rebounds in the four Central Jersey Group IV playoff games, highlighted by 18 points and eight rebounds in a sectional semifinal win over Sayreville. His highest scoring game was a 22-point effort against Middletown South in round one and he added 13 points to Staklinski’s 20 in the sectional final, giving the duo 33 of Freehold Township’s 39 points.

Zyskowski won the final Player of the Week award of the season with more than half of the more than 15,600 votes cast at better than 58 percent. He beat out Barnegat junior Mike Revello, who collected more than 32 percent of the vote after setting a program recordwith 38 points in one game during a win over Cape May Tech.

Rumson junior Jack Solano (3.3 percent), Staklinski (2.0) and Ranney sophomore Bryan Antoine (1.7) were the only other players to receive more than 100 votes and one percent of the vote.
