No. 3 CBA 89, Manalapan 57 - Watch

Seniors Mike White and Colin Farrell combined for 55 points and the Colts (7-3) routed the Braves (2-5) behind an overwhelming first quarter.

White finished with a game-high 28 points and Farrell poured in 27 to lead CBA, which outscored Manalapan 34-4 in the first quarter. Senior John Straley added 11 points and senior Dane Moran pitched in eight in the win.

Senior Chris Frontera led Manalapan with 26 points while junior Gabe Blackwell added 15 points and junior Mike Bimonte netted 10 in the loss.

No. 4 Marlboro 80, Middletown South 60 - Watch

Junior Jack Seidler scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half after classmate Jay Ratner scored 15 of his 19 in the first as the Mustangs (6-3) rolled over the Eagles (2-6) for their fourth straight win.

Junior Jon Spatola also pumped in 15 points for Marlboro.

Senior Luke Albrecht led Middletown South with a game-high 26 points. Senior Tom Brown added 14 and junior James Mayerhofer pitched in 11 in the loss.

Middletown North 62, Colts Neck 57 - Watch

Junior Tommy Giannone racked up 17 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals and his all-around effort sparked the Lions (5-4) to a road win over the Cougars (3-6).

Senior Vinny Pennino added 14 points, junior Matt Kenny pitched in 12 and senior Alex Bogues contributed eight points and eight rebounds for Middletown North.

Senior Steve Ciccarone led four Colts Neck players in double-figure scoring with 14 points. Senior Richie Lee added 13 and junior Tommy Fallon chipped in 10 in the loss.

Long Branch 57, Monmouth 51 - Watch

Senior Josiah Evans pumped in 19 points and the Green Wave (1-7) knocked off the Falcons (3-4) to give Darnell Tyler his first win as a head coach.

Junior Christian Rodriguez added 12 points and junior Mason Alexander added nine for Long Branch.

No. 1 Manasquan 62, No. 6 Neptune 45 - Watch

Senior Jack Collins scored a career-high 29 points, including five three-pointers, and the Warriors (6-0) shook off a slow start to run away with a win over the Scarlet Fliers (2-3), who were playing for the first time since Feb. 4.

Junior Ben Roy added 23 points for Manasquan, which trailed Neptune, 16-11, at the end of the first quarter.

Senior Sam Fagan led Neptune with 19 points and senior Andre Harris poured in 11 in the loss.

No. 8 Wall 41, St. Rose 30 - Watch

Senior Logan Peters scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds and the Crimson Knights (4-6) topped the Purple Roses (0-5) to sweep the season series from their local rivals.

Junior Colin Ackerman added 12 points and five steals and senior Pat Lacey poured in 10 points for Wall.

Barnegat 52, Point Boro 38 - Watch

Senior Tyler Quinn scored 18 points and for the second straight game, the Bengals (7-2) used a 21-point third quarter to separate themselves - this time for a win over the Panthers (2-4) to salvage a season split with their division rival.

Senior Jaxon Baker added 14 points and senior Andrew Vernieri added nine for Barnegat, which erased a one-point halftime deficit with a 21-12 third quarter. On Saturday vs. Red Bank, the Bengals outscored the Bucs 21-6 in the third to break the game open.

Junior Kai Messeroll scored 12 points and classmate Matt Lee added nine to lead Point Boro.

Matawan 69, St. John Vianney 68 - Watch

Senior Andre Wells scored 28 of his career-high 38 points in the second half and the Huskies (6-3) rallied from a 17-point second-half deficit to shock the Lancers (4-4). Wells also dished out five assists and his 38 points matched Keansburg's Davon Jackson for the highest single-game total at the Shore this season.

Wells missed a free throw with seven seconds left trying to ice the game and sophomore Connor Howard drew a blocking foul with two seconds left but could not cash in on his free-throw attempts.

Senior Gio Gallo added 11 points for Matawan, while sophomore Kyle Verriest led St. John Vianney with 20 points on six three-pointers. Freshman Dylan Seay also scored 14 for the Lancers.

No. 5 Red Bank Catholic 73, No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven 60 - Watch

Junior C.J. Ruoff scored 23 points and classmate Alex Bauman put up 21 points, 20 rebounds and four assists to spark the Caseys (6-0) to their sixth straight win to open the season, this time by topping the Bulldogs (4-3).

Junior Geoff Schroeder led Rumson with 22 points and classmate Scott Gyimesi added 16 points and nine rebounds in the loss.

 

Non-Division

Howell 58, Donovan Catholic 48 - Watch

Junior Zach Emery scored 17 points behind five three-pointers and the Rebels (6-4) rallied by the Griffins (3-5) with Emery and three more Howell players cracking double-figure scoring.

Junior Dylan McVeigh added 12 points and six assists, senior Jake George chipped in 11 points and six rebounds and junior Joe Dupuis posted 10 points, nine rebounds and four assists for Howell, which outscored Donovan Catholic, 19-5, during the third quarter to turn a four-point halftime deficit into a 40-30 lead heading into the fourth.

Junior Amari Ayala-Petty led Donovan Catholic with 16 points.

Ocean 51, Brick 31 - Watch

Senior Matt Shaw scored 17 points and dished out five assists as the Spartans (5-4) handled the Green Dragons (2-4) for their fourth straight win. Senior Evan Peters hit four three-pointers on the way to 16 points and senior Rusty Todd posted 11 points and 11 rebounds for Ocean.

Southern 55, Manchester 53 (2 OT) - Watch

Senior Jay Silva scored the tie-breaking layup with six seconds left off a feed from junior Jaden Anthony and the Rams (8-1) pulled out a double-overtime thriller win over the Hawks (5-2) for their eighth straight win.

Southern needed two clutch three-pointers late in regulation and during the first overtime period to stay alive, with senior Luke Infurna hitting one with 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 43-43 and Anthony burying one with 32 seconds left in the first overtime to tie it at 51-51.

Silva led the way for Southern with 18 points and six rebounds while also limiting Manchester junior center Wyatt Haselbauer to two points on no field goals. Infurna added 14 points and Anthony chipped in seven points, six rebounds and nine assists in the win, while senior Jake Barbierri also threw in 10 points to aide the Southern cause.

Junior Savon Myers carried Manchester with 25 points while senior Gavin Clark helped out with 10.

Keyport 62, Koinonia Academy 51 - Watch

Junior D.J. Thomson scored the 1,000th point of his career in a 17-point effort and the Red Raiders (6-2) outlasted Koinonia. Senior Damon Jones led all scorers with 18 points and junior Anthony Longo added 10 in the win.

Keansburg 52, Manville 46 - Watch

Senior Davon Jackson poured in a game-high 29 points to lead the Titans (3-5) to a road win over the Mustangs.
