The sophomore sharpshooter averaged 28 points and a little fewer than eight rebounds in Point Boro’s three wins this week over Central, Barnegat and John F. Kennedy Iselin. That schedule is not exactly a murderer’s row of competition, but Wejnert exhibited marvelous consistency in the three games. He scored 24 points with eight rebounds in a win over Central, posted 28 points and seven rebounds in the win over Barnegat, then capped the week with a career-high 32 points to go with eight boards in the win over Kennedy on Saturday. In seven games this season, Wejnert is averaging 23.1 points, which leads the Shore Conference.

Honorable Mention

Class A North

Chris Talbott, Freehold Twp. – Nobody in A North went off this week, but Talbott put up good all-around numbers during a 3-0 week for the Patriots. He averaged 12 points in the three wins, including 11 in a win over Middletown North and 17 points and seven steals in a win over Howell.

Class A Central

Ryan Jensen, Manasquan – The Warriors had a big week with wins at Rumson-Fair Haven and St. John Vianney and Jensen went off in the second of those two games against the Lancers: 22 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, four steals and seven blocks.

Class A South

Mike Gesicki, Southern – Four of the biggest games of the season for Southern are the two each against Toms River North and Jackson Memorial. Gesicki helped beat both, with 26 points, 18 rebounds and six blocks in a win over Toms River North and 18 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks in a win over Jackson Memorial.

Class B North

Chris Tawiah, Matawan – The Huskies went 3-0 this week to take control of Class B North, led by Tawiah. The senior averaged 18 points in the three games and scored a career-high 26 in a big 60-48 win over Long Branch on Monday.

Class B Central

James Geraghty, Ranney – Point Beach senior Matt Farrell had a standout week and has been the best player in the conference so far, but let’s give some love to Ranney, which went 3-0 this week. Geraghty averaged 16 points and seven rebounds in the three games, including a 20-point, 10-rebound game in a win over Keansburg.
