Senior Jake George scored 21 points and grabbed eight boards as the Rebels stomped the Piners to open their season. Junior Zach Emery added 12 points and junior Joe Dupuis pitched in 11 points and five assists for Howell.
Asbury Park 61, Keansburg 54
Senior Najier Massie led an all-around offensive attack with 19 points to counter a big game from Keansburg senior Davon Jackson as the Blue Bishops topped the Titans on opening night.
Jackson went off for a career-high 35 points to lead Keansburg, but Asbury Park held the rest of Keansburg's lineup to 19 points, with no other Titans player reaching double-figure scoring.
Junior Tajier Burrus added 12 points, junior Lydell Brown pitched in 11 and sophomore Jai'Sun Brown poured in eight for Asbury Park.
Brick Memorial 49, Jackson Memorial 33
Junior Luke Braaten scored a game-high 19 points and the Mustangs stormed past the Jaguars to open their season. Senior Jake Dombrowski led a balanced supporting effort with seven points.
Sophomore Charlie Meglio led Jackson Memorial with 10 points while junior Steve Bado pitched in eight in defeat.
Toms River North 57, Southern 46
Senior Wesley Deitch scored a game-high 22 points and the Mariners handled the Rams to open their season with another win over a traditional Class A South opponent.
Toms River North's official 74-game winning streak within Class A South divisional play is on hold this season without Shore Conference divisions in 2021.
Senior Ethan Paul added 14 points and five assists while senior Jake Kazanowski chipped in 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks for Toms River North, which returns only one of its top seven rotation players from last season (Kazanowsky).
Senior Jay Silva led Southern with 12 points and seven rebounds while senior Luke Infurna and junior Jaden Anthony each netted 11 points in the loss.
Donovan Catholic 62, Toms River South 53
Junior Amari Ayala-Petty scored a game-high 16 points and classmate Brian Farrell scored 13 of his 15 in the second half to lead the Griffins to an opening night win over the Indians in the battle of Hooper Ave.
Junior Dylan Orosz also chipped in 12 points for Donovan Catholic.
Senior Neil Kwincinski led Toms River South with 13 points and junior Gavin Migliori poured in 11 in the loss.
Manchester 67, Jackson Liberty 34
Junior D'Maari Brown scored a game-high 20 points behind four three-pointers and 13 second-half points as the Hawks routed the Lions to open up their season.
Senior Savon Myers led three other Manchester players in double figures with 14 points, with junior Wyatt Haselbauer netting 11 and senior Gavin Clark pitching in 10.
Senior Dubem Emunuga scored 12 points and junior Phanique Dupree added 11 to lead Jackson Liberty.
Barnegat 45, Pinelands 42 (OT)
Senior Tyler Quinn hit the game-winning three-pointer with 0.9 seconds left in overtime and the Bengals topped the Wildcats in an opening-night thriller.
Quinn finished with a game-high 18 points while Pinelands held Barnegat's returning leading scorer, senior Jaxon Baker, to 12 on four three-pointers.
Senior Josh Kline led Pinelands with 14 points and junior Aiden Skeie chipped in 10 in the loss.

Freehold Boro 54, Shore 52
Senior Jiasion Carpenter and junior Tyler Ochojski led the scoring effort and dominated the boards as the Colonials clipped the Blue Devils to open their season.
Carpenter finished with 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals while Ochojski posted 16 points, 18 rebounds, four assists and three blocks. Senior Ryan Neely also contributed 15 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals for Freehold Boro.
Senior Tyler Tilton led Shore with a game-high 21 points while senior Chris Kessler poured in 11 in defeat.
Raritan 51, Ocean 40
Junior Justin Rivera pumped in a game-high 21 points to lead the Rockets to an opening-night win over the Spartans. Sophomore Matt Agar pitched in 13 points in the win.
Senior Matt Shaw led Ocean with 15 points.
Hun 64, CBA 51
Senior Colin Farrell poured in 20 points but it was not enough for the Colts to keep up with the Raiders on opening night in Princeton.
Senior Mike White contributed 13 points and senior Dane Moran netted 10 for CBA.
Kelvin Smith matched Farrell with 20 points to lead Hun.
Washington Twp. 55, Central 49
Junior Justin Soranno scored 15 points and the Golden Eagles fell short of a comeback against the Minutemen.
Soranno also dished out four assists while senior I-Meer Johnson pitched in 10 points, 12 rebounds and four steals. Sophomore John Truhan also added 10 points and four assists for Central, which trailed by 18 points heading into the fourth quarter and pulled to within four with a minute to go.
Drew Amos led Washington with a game-high 19 points.
