Class A North

Middletown North 63, Manalapan 59

Freshman Rob Higgins scored a game-high 23 points and the Lions (10-7, 7-4) edged the Braves (7-10, 4-6). Sophomore Dave Campbell and junior Marc Cerbo each added 13 points for Middletown North, while senior teammate Colin Frawley chipped in nine points and seven rebounds.

Sophomore Matan Zucker led Manalapan with 21 points and senior Anthony Schimbeno poured in 20 in the loss.

 

Class A South

Southern 66, Brick Memorial 51

Senior Peyton Wejnert scored 35 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as the Rams (10-5, 7-3) took care of the Mustangs (1-13, 1-9) on the road.

Sophomore Jake Dubois and senior Sean Clayton each added nine points for Southern, with Clayton burying three three-pointers, while senior Ethan Dubois chipped in six points and 10 assists.

Senior Darius Richards and sophomore Anthony Argondizza each scored 11 points to lead Brick Memorial.

Toms River East 82, Brick 73

Junior Phil Lingat scored a career-high 36 points and the Raiders (10-4, 7-3) outlasted the Green Dragons (8-7, 6-5). Lingat also added six rebounds and five steals in the win.

Senior Ryan West added 15 points and six rebounds and sophomore Zaire Dorn pitched in 10 points. Senior Bailey Engelhard also posted six points and 11 rebounds.

Senior Kenny Buell led Brick with 24 points, while junior Brandon Williams chipped in 16 and senior Nik Tartaglione had 13 in defeat.

Jackson Memorial 35, Lacey 33

Senior Chris Hawryuk scored 21 of his team's 35 points to carry the Jaguars (8-6, 6-4) to a win over the Lions (2-13, 1-10) on the road.

Toms River North 77, Toms River South 59

Senior Hunter Petrick scored 18 points to lead five Toms River North players with at least nine points or more as the Mariners (15-2, 10-0) topped the rival Indians (5-10, 3-7). Petrick hit five three-pointers in the win.

Junior Jaden Rhoden added 14 points and 10 rebounds, junior Darrion Carrington had 13 points and seven assists and junior Mike Nyisztor also dropped 13 points. Senior Pat Marinaccio chipped in nine points and eight rebounds in the win.

Senior Trevor Wagner led Toms River South with 14 points, while Ryan Schwartz poured in 13 and Nykie Lofton netted 12 in the loss.

 

Class B North

Red Bank 59, Ocean 51

Senior Matt Reardon scored a game-high 18 points and the Bucs (8-8, 6-6) topped the Spartans (10-7, 5-6) to climb back to the .500 mark.

Sophomore Devin Cooper added 14 points and senior Sadiq Palmer chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds. Senior Ben Sprauer also had 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals for Red Bank.

Senir Scott Bradley led Ocean with 16 points.

 

Class B Central

St. Rose 60, Henry Hudson 49

Sophomore John Crowley and junior Nick Paterno scored 14 points each and the Purple Roses (9-7, 7-4) topped the Admirals (7-8, 3-8).

Senior Tom DeFillippo led Henry Hudson with 19 points and five assists and senior Chris Coberg added 10 points and 10 rebounds in defeat.

Mater Dei Prep 71, Keansburg 35

Junior Elijah Mitchell scored 19 points and the Seraphs (15-1, 11-0) coasted to a win over the Titans (1-13, 1-10). Sophomore Kenny Jones added 16 points and sophmore Sky Cherry poured in 10 for Mater Dei.

Julian Castell led Keansburg with 10 points and Quentin Godfrey netted 10 in the loss.

Ranney 74, Asbury Park 47

Freshman Bryan Antoine scored 20 of his game-high 25 points in the first half and the Panthers (16-1, 10-1) plowed through the Blue Bishops (3-10, 3-8). Antoine also had four rebounds, four assists and five steals.

Freshman Chris Autino added nine points, eight rebounds and three blocks for Ranney. Senior NyRhique Smith led Asbury Park with 16 points and four steals.

Freshman Scottie Antoine added 18 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and four steals for Ranney. Following the game, St. John's offered scholarships to both Antoine and Lewis, according to Pat Lawless of MadeHoops.com and confirmed by Ranney coach Tahj Holden and Team Rio National AAU manager Brian Klatsky.

 

Class B South

No. 9 Lakewood 90, Central 49

Senior Amir Tyler scored a game-high 24 points and the Piners (13-3, 10-1) routed the Golden Eagles (7-10, 3-8) to move back into sole possession of first place in Class B South.

Senior Sean Barksdale contributed 16 points and 13 rebounds, while junior Adiam Palmer chipped in 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Pinelands 38, No. 8 Manchester 37

Junior Chris Burke hit a three-pointer as time expired and the Wildcats (6-10, 5-6) rallied from a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit to knock off the Hawks (13-4, 9-2), the first time in program history Pinelands has defeated a ranked opponent, according to coach John Tierney.

Senior David Lunn led Pinelands with 16 points and five rebounds and senior Mike Suarez added nine points in the win.

Senior Jordan Torney led Manchester with 15 points.

Point Boro 41, Jackson Liberty 40

Senior Matt VanNostrand and junior Jack Waddleton each scored 10 points to help the Panthers (8-7, 5-6) edged the Lions (4-10, 3-9).

Senior Dan Sofield led Jackson Liberty with a game-high 12 points while junior Nico Montano poured in 11 in the loss.

Donovan Catholic 54, Barnegat 47

Senior Kevin Singleton scored 14 points and senior Riley Collins chipped in 13 to help lead the Griffins (11-5, 9-2) to a win over the Bengals (5-12, 1-11).

Colts Neck 74, Middletown South 37

Raritan 73, Roselle Park 33

Senior Eddie Tynion led four Raritan players in double-figures with 24 points as the Rockets (10-6) blasted the Panthers (7-10).

Senior Joe Strand added 14 points, senior Danny Lehan poured in 11 and senior Jon Rodriguez chipped in 10 in the win.

At Pine Belt Arena

Mater Dei Prep 57, St. Joseph Montvale 49

Senior Elijah Barnes scored 15 points and the Seraphs outscored the Green Knights 21-12 in the fourth quarter to win a matchup of two of the top 20 teams in the state according to NJ.com.

Barnes hit three second-half three-pointers, including two during the fourth-quarter push by Mater Dei. Senior Nyquan McCombs added 10 points and held St. Joseph Montvale leading scorer Nate Garvey to 12 points on 4-for-13 shooting.

Sophomore Kenny Jones chipped in nine points and four steals and senior Kyle Elliot scored six of his eight points int he fourth quarter. Senior Bryan Harris scored seven points and hit a three and threw down a dunk on consecutive possessions as past of a 7-0 run to open the fourth quarter.

CBA 68, East Orange 60

Pat Andree scored a game-high 30 points on 11-for-13 shooting and the Colts held off the Jaguars. Andree shot 6-for-7 from behind the three-point line and also chipped in 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Senior Jack McGuire added 14 points and senior Sam Houston poured in 10 for CBA.
