Jackson Memorial 56, Toms River East 45

Senior Chris Hawryluk scored 19 points and the Jaguars (3-3, 2-1) won their second straight division game by beating the Raiders. Senior Eddie Landi and sophomore Ryan Omslaer each added 10 points for Jackson Memorial.

Sophomore Phil Lingat led Toms River East (2-3, 0-2) with 19 points and junior Ryan West chipped in 13 in defeat.

Brick Memorial 46, Lacey 44

Senior Aaron Scheiderman hit a floater along the baseline with 2.2 seconds left to break a tie game and lift the Mustangs (3-3, 2-1) to a win over the Lions (1-4, 0-2), ending a three-game skid. Scheiderman finished with a game-high 21 points and senior Scott White added 15 in the win.

Seniors Chris Iapicco and Conor Davies each scored 13 points to lead Lacey.

Toms River South 69, Brick 56

Senior Tymere Berry poured in 28 points and the Indians (3-2, 1-0) took down the Green Dragons (1-5, 1-2). Juniors Tyler Fall and R.J. Laing each added 15 points for Toms River South, while senior Brian Oehme led Brick with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Joe DeStefano also chipped in 14 points in his first career start for Brick.

 

Class B Central

Mater Dei Prep 53, Keyport 39

Senior Jason Mandile led a balanced scoring effort with 15 points and the Seraphs (2-5, 2-1) beat the Red Raiders (2-3, 1-2) to snap a four-game losing streak. Senior Matt LaForte netted 14 points and senior Patric Donohue added 12 for Mater Dei in the win.

Henry Hudson 42, Keansburg 21

No. 9 Point Beach 67, Ranney 39

Jesse Hill led a balanced scoring attack with 14 points and the Garnet Gulls (4-2, 3-0) beat the Panthers (1-2, 1-2) in B Central. Jimmy Panzini added 12 points and freshman Danny Frauenheim chipped in 10 for Point Beach. Corey Natofsky led Ranney with 12 points.

Class B South

No. 2 Lakewood 60, Donovan Catholic 46

Senior Ryan Lawrence and junior Sean Barksdale scored 19 points apiece and the Piners (6-0, 3-0) pulled away to beat the Griffins (4-2, 2-1) and remain unbeaten to open the season. Barksdale added six rebounds and four blocks, while junior Tyreek Grayson chipped in eight points, five assists and four steals.

Michael Boice led Donovan Catholic with 16 points and James Fata chipped in 11 in the loss.

Manchester 53, Point Boro 35

Jordan Torney scored a game-high 16 points and the Hawks (3-2, 2-0) rolled to a win over the Panthers (1-5, 0-3). Nakim Stokes added 12 points and five assists, while senior Robert Planter chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Matt VanNostrand led Point Boro with 12 points.

Central 69, Jackson Liberty 44

Pinelands 49, Barnegat 42

Senior Zach Wiatrowski scored 19 points and the Wildcats (4-2, 2-1) topped the Bengals (1-5, 0-3) for their fourth straight win. Junior David Lunn poured in 11 points and Michael Suarez added 10 for Pinelands.

Junior Nick Camarato led Barnegat with 15 points, while junior DaShawn Anderson added 12 in the loss.

Neptune 50, Paterson Charter 27

Micah Kerr scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to earn game MVP honors and the Scarlet Fliers (2-3) cruised to a win over the showcase host. Kerry Kirkwood also added 12 points in the win.
