Senior Amir Tyler hit a tie-breaking floater in the lane during the final minute of the game and the Lakewood boys basketball team - ranked No. 8 in the latest Shore Sports Network Top 10 - topped Newark Tech at the Prime Time Shootout Sunday at Roselle Catholic.

Tyler finished with a team-high 22 points, four assists and four steals to lead the Piners, while senior Kaseam Wilson added 15 points and five assists for Lakewood (17-4). Senior Ryzson Barnes also had 12 point and six rebounds and senior Sean Barksdale chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds in the win.

Mustapha Lawrence led Newark Tech (6-12) with a game-high 32 points.

Lakewood also drew the No. 7 seed in the Shore Conference Tournament, which was seeded on Sunday. The Piners host No. 26 Jackson Memorial on Tuesday to open the tournament.
