NEPTUNE - Senior Jared Kimbrough scored 16 points and hauled in 22 rebounds to lead the Neptune boys basketball team pas Ewing, 34-29, Thursday in the semifinals of the Neptune Holiday Jubilee.

Kimbrough scored 11 of Neptune's 17 first-half points and grabbed 17 defensive rebounds while spearheading a Scarlet Fliers defensive effort that stymied the Blue Devils throughout the game. Kimbrough also blocked three shots.

Neptune extended its lead to eight in the third quarter behind five points apiece from Kimbrough and senior Kobe Blake, whose three-pointer from the top of the key made it 28-20 late in the quarter.

Ewing pulled within 29-22 by the end of the quarter and made it a 9-1 run to pull even at 29 late in the fourth.

Junior Dwaine Jones scored all of Neptune's fourth-quarter points by going 5-for-6 from the free-throw line and finished with nine points. He hit one of two free throws with a little under two minutes to play and iced the game with four straight in the final 37 seconds.

Keyshawn Preston led Ewing with 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Neptune will take on top-seeded Seton Hall Prep in the championship game on Saturday at 4:15 p.m.
