RUMSON - After watching its opponent, Rumson-Fair Haven, show a flair for the dramatic during the fourth quarter and overtime Wednesday night in the finale of the Bulldawg Classic, the Colts Neck boys basketball team showed it can do drama as well.

Senior Jordan deGroot hit the go-ahead three-pointer with three seconds left in the second overtime and the Cougars topped the Bulldogs, 60-57, in a double-overtime thriller in a wild finish to the three-day showcase.

Senior Lloyd Daniels led Colts Neck with 17 points and senior Kyle Gordon added 13 for Colts Neck. DeGroot finished with 10.

Rumson senior Mickey Schluter nailed a three-pointer as time expired in the first overtime to send the game into the second extra session after his team rallied from an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to send the game into overtime.

Bulldogs senior Brendan Barry led all scorers with 32 points on six three-pointers and led Rumson back from a double-digit deficit in the final quarter. Schluter finished with 10 points in the loss.
