Nineteen players have scored 1,000 career points at Christian Brothers Academy prior to Stephen Braunstein joining the exclusive club on Monday.

While Braunstein is only the latest to navigate that path, he and his current senior teammate are the first pair of CBA classmates to walk that path together.

With his first basket in CBA's 78-47 win over Freehold Boro Monday, Braunstein joined fellow senior Josh Cohen in CBA's 1,000-point club, which made he and Cohen the first pair of classmates in CBA history to each scored 1,000 points.

There have been CBA teammates to reach 1,000 points but never two from the same class like Cohen and Braunstein. Cohen reached the 1,000-point milestone in a win at Middletown South in January and has since passed the 1,100 mark.

The two teammates broke into the CBA rotation as sophomores in 2016-17, when the Colts were replacing their top six players from the year before. Cohen was the top scorer on the team as a sophomore and leads the team this year while Braunstein led the Colts in scoring last season and is averaging better than 17 points per game as a senior.

Stephen Braunstein became the 20th member of CBA's 1,000-point club Monday and he and fellow senior Josh Cohen are now the first pair of classmates in CBA history with 1,000 career points.

Braunstein finished with eight points on Monday while Cohen led four CBA players in double-figures with 22 points. Freshman Ryan Mabrey added 12 points, senior Paul Waraska poured in 11 and sophomore Mike White netted 10 in the win, which clinched CBA the outright Class A North title for the first time since 2015-2016.
