(10) Neptune 60, (7) Manalapan 52

Sophomore Barry Brown scored 16 of his 21 points in the first half and the Scarlet Fliers held off a fourth-quarter surge by the Braves to advance to Sunday's SCT quarterfinals. Neptune will play No. 15 Point Pleasant Beach with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

Neptune led by as many as 20 in the first half and 16 in the third quarter. Manalapan chipped the Scarlet Fliers lead to 12 by the end of the third quarter and pulled to within a point on three different occasions within the final four minutes.

Sean McMillan drove for a basket to push the Neptune lead to 55-52 with 1:30 left and Brown pushed the lead to five with a drive of his own with a little under a minute to go. Keishawn Kirkwood went 3-for-4 from the free-throw line to close out his 13-point game and a Neptune win.

McMillan scored eight of his 10 points off the bench in the first half, while Micah Kerr added eight points and 10 rebounds for the Scarlet Fliers. Kerry Kirkwood added eight points, including a key driving lay-up as he was fouled to make it 53-50.

Kyle Mullen led Manalapan with a game-high 26 points, including 17 in the first half, and also grabbed six rebounds.

Nick Facendo banked in a driving floater with 38 seconds left to give the Patriots a one-point lead and Freehold Township pulled out a win over the Indians to clinch a spot in the SCT quarterfinals for the first time since winning the tournament in 2007.

Facendo finished with 11 points and five assists while Dan Saunders scored nine of his 17 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Patriots. Tyree Wilson also chipped in 14 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for Freehold Township.

Tymere Berry led Toms River South with a game-high 23 points and Matt Shiffer came off the bench and hit four three-pointers for 12 points.

Freehold Township will play Rumson-Fair Haven Sunday in the SCt quarterfinals a rematch of a game from early January won by Freehold Township in overtime.

(1) CBA 63, (16) Red Bank Catholic 49

Pat Andree led four CBA players in double-figures with 18 points and the Colts topped the rival Caseys to advance to the SCT quarterfinals Sunday at Brookdale College. CBA will take on No. 8 Manasquan for a chance to play in he semifinals.

Jack Laffey added 17 points for CBA, while John Salcedo hit four threes and finished with 13 points Jack McGuire also poured in 11 points in the win.

Eddie Hahn led Red Bank Catholic with a game-high 20 points, while Joe Montano pitched in 12 in defeat.

(15) Point Beach 67, (2) Lakewood 63

Senior Jesse Hill scored 27 points - including the 1,000th of his high school career - to lead the defending SCT champion Garnet Gulls to a win over the Piners. Point Beach has won five straight since suffering its first Class B Central division loss in 38 games to St. Rose, and will play No. 10 Neptune in the SCT quarterfinals on Sunday.

Hill has scored his 1,002 points for three different programs during his career, beginning with Monsignor Donovan during his sophomore year and then with Jackson Memorial as a junior last season.

Mike Rice added 10 points for Point Beach, while Jimmy Panzini and Mike Frauenheim each chipped in nine. Ryan Sheehan also knocked down two threes and finished with eight points off the bench.

Ryan Lawrence led Lakewood with 21 points and Chapelle Cook added 13. Lakewood played its first game without junior starter Tyreek Grayson, who officially left the team for personal reasons earlier this week, according to Piners coach Randy Holmes. Grayson hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer in Lakewood's regular-season win over Point Beach.

(4) Toms River North 57, (13) Shore 51

Evan Martin scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help the Mariners dig out of an early 14-point hole and beat the Blue Devils to advance to the SCT quarterfinals for the second time in three years.

Shore stormed out to a 17-3 lead to open the game, but Toms River North chopped the deficit to 22-19 by halftime.

Jordan Craig chipped in seven points, 12 rebounds and five blocks, while Darrion Carrington hit two second-half three-pointers and handed out six assists for the Mariners. Mike Nyisztor also added eight points in the win.

Dan Largey led Shore with 24 points to follow up his 41-point first-round game on Wednesday against Marlboro. Jack Byrne added 11 and Kevin Bloodgood had eight in the loss.

Toms River North will take on Wall Sunday at Brookdale College as it searches for its second SCT semifinal appearance in three years.

(5) Wall 52, (12) Southern 51

Trent Mitchell scored the game-winning basket on a drive with 22 seconds left and the Crimson Knights edged the Rams to advance to the SCT quarterfinals Sunday at Brookdale College against No. 4 Toms River North.

Mitchell finished with a team-high 14 points and drove to his left for the winning score after Wall forced a Southern turnover underneath the Rams basket to get the ball back down one point. Southern had a chance to tie the game, but Jake Logue's contested shot from nine feet fell short as time expired.

Brendan Barcas added 12 points for Wall, while Peyton Wejnert led Southern with a game-high 22 points and Logue added 12.

(11) Rumson-Fair Haven 50, (6) Red Bank 42

Morgan Maguire scored a team-high 14 points and Brendan Barry scored all 12 of his points in the second half as the Bulldogs took down the Bucs to advance to the SCT quarterfinals for the first time since reaching the championship game in 2011. Rumson will play No. 3 Freehold Township Sunday at Brookdale College.

Rumson jumped out to an 11-4 first-quarter lead and did not trail at any point the rest of the way. Barry did not score until the final minute of the third quarter, when he buried a three to give the Bulldogs a 30-22 lead heading to the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs went 20-for-26 from the free-throw line, including 12-for-17 in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Alex Geiger added 10 points for Rumson, while Thomas Famulary poured in nine. Tyler Christie scored nine of his 11 points in the fourth quarter to lead Red Bank.

(8) Manasquan 56, (9) Colts Neck 49

Jack Sheehan scored 13 points and handed out 10 assists as the Warriors held on to beat the Cougars and advance to the SCT quarterfinals for the fourth straight year. Manasquan will play top-seeded CBA Sunday at Brookdale College.

Ryan Jensen added 12 points, 19 rebounds and five blocks for Manasquan, while Kyle Bradshaw added 11 points and seven rebounds in the win.

Chris O'Reilly led Colts Neck with 14 points, while Kyle Gordon added nine and Lloyd Daniels eight.

Sam Famulare drove for the game-winning lay-up with 4.4 seconds left and the Patriots stunned the Caseys to advance to the SCT quarterfinals Sunday at Brookdale College against No. 3 St. John Vianney. Famulare led Freehold Township with 16 points, while Alex Barazotti led Red Bank Catholic with 16 points of her own.
