Charleston pounded out 18 hits, led by four from Abiatal Avelino and home runs from Mike Ford and Michael O'Neill as the RiverDogs topped the BlueClaws 9-3 on Wednesday afternoon at FirstEnergy Park.

The Yankees-affiliate took two of three in the series from the BlueClaws, who have lost four of their last five. 

The RiverDogs (10-9) scored three runs in the first inning off Lakewood starter Alejandro Arteaga. They addd two in the third inning on a home run by Ford, his third of the year. O'Neill's home run, a two-run shot in the 4th inning, capped a three-run inning and chased Arteaga (1-3) from the game after he gave up eight runs in 3.2 innings pitched. 

Samuel Hiciano and Carlos Tocci each had two hits for the BlueClaws (5-13). Andrew Pullin hit his first BlueClaws home run, and sixth professional, in the sixth inning. 

Lakewood relievers Jesen Therrien (2.1 innings, no runs) and Yacksel Rios (three innings and one run) combined to allow one run over 5.1 innings in relief for the BlueClaws. 

Abiatal Avelino had four hits to lead the RiverDogs attack on Wednesday. Aaron Judge and Miguel Andjuar added three hits apiece while Tyler Wade, Ford, and O'Neill each had two hits. 

Brady Lail (2-1) gave up two runs in five innings to earn the win. 

The BlueClaws will next welcome in Savannah (Mets) for a five-game, four-day series beginning Thursday night at FirstEnergy Park. The series includes a double-header on Friday that starts at 5:05 pm.
