Jersey Shore Basketball League Playoffs

First Round

At St. Rose High School

Monday, Aug. 5

(6) Island Title 117, (3) Sea View Jeep 111

Gage Daye scored 29 points and iced the game with a pair of free throws with 11 seconds left to lift Island Title to a first-round upset of Sea View Jeep - just Island's second win of the summer at the JSBL.

Daye also handed out six assists while Nick Davidson led the way with 31 points and nine rebounds for Island Title. Davidson missed a pair of free throws with 23 seconds left and Island Title up 113-111 but Sea View turned the ball over on the ensuing possession, setting up Daye for his clutch free throws.

Junior Saintel threw down an alley-oop to cap the win, his second dunk in the final two minutes and the exclamation point on his 25-point, 14-rebound performance. Justin Leith also turned in an all-around effort with 10 points, eight rebounds and nine assists in the win.

Island Title overcame a slow start and a poor-shooting first half to take its first lead with 3:43 left in the third quarter, 70-69. Island shot 2-for-22 from three-point range in the first half.

Roy Mabrey led Sea View with 45 points to cap his strong summer as one of the JSBL's top scorers. Sea View played its second straight game without standout guard and former Monmouth University star Justin Robinson.
