Baseball Wednesday Scoreboard, 4/27/16
Class A North
No. 9 Freehold Boro 7, No. 6 Howell 2
Tom Holdorf went a perfect 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored and an RBI and the Colonials rode another strong start from junior left-hander Dan Chiusano to a win over the Rebels.
Nick Zuppe went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs, while both Marco Meleo and Ryan Yee both finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Chiusano worked around seven hits to limit Howell to one run over his four innings and also struck out six while walking one. Pat White allowed a run in two relief innings and James Manos threw a scoreless seventh to shut the door on the Rebels.
Christian Gedell was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Grant Hackett finished 2-for-3 with a run scored for Howell. Mark Iacobino also went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Sophomore Marco Matias singled home Jared Lubanski with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh and the Rams walked off with a win over the Jaguars. Lubanski tripled with one out to bring Mattias to the plate with a chance to win the game.
Nick Simone pitched 6 shutout innings, allowing only two hits and no walks while striking out four. Zach Fillmore tossed a scoreless seventh inning and picked up the win in relief.
Chris Hawryluk threw a four-hitter in defeat and also struck out nine with no walks in his 6 1/3 innings.

Junior left-hander Joe Felipe threw a two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts to lead the Hawks past the Bengals and keep Manchester in the hunt for a share of the Class B South championship.

Freshman Joey Ventresca helped his cause with a two-run single and struck out 10 in a complete-game effort as the Wildcats took down the Griffins. Ventresca scattered seven hits and six walks while allowing two earned runs.
Dave Lunn went 2-for-3 with a run scored while Brad O'Brien and Anthony Diaz each had a hit and a run scored.
Matt Morro went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Jack Bilancia was 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI for Donovan Catholic. Kyle Malloy also went 2-for-4 with a double and pitched a complete game six-hitter. He took the loss despite surrendering only one earned run.
