Junior Gene Napolitano went 4-for-4 with three doubles and five RBI in support of senior starer Jeremy Dyzenhaus as the Mustangs beat the Barrons in their season opener.

Dyzenhaus allowed three hits and a walk while striking out four over five shutout innings before junior Jeremy Bello threw a scoreless sixth to finish it off.

Sophomore Justin Levito and junior Will Trochiano each went 1-for-2 with an RBI, with Trochiano scoring three runs and Levito doubling and scoring two. Junior Mark Ventre also went 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Freshman Justin Kapuscinski went 1-for-4 with a double in his varsity debut. He joined Levito and Ventre in picking up his first varsity hit.

Manalapan 9, Bayonne 0

Seniors Jake Sadowitz and Chris Rodriguez both homered and Joshua Rand pitched six shutout innings of three-hit ball to lead the Braves (1-1) to their first win of the season over the Bees. Rodriguez also doubled, as did senior Mike Mollica.

 

At Fort Piece, Fla.

CBA 3, Chestnut Hill Academy (Pa.) 1

Senior Luca Dalatri hit a go-ahead two-run double in the top of the seventh inning and the Colts (2-1) rallied to beat Chesnut Hill of Philadelphia.

Senior Kenny Campbell threw a complete-game one-hitter with six strikeouts and one walk in his first start of the season. Sophomore Andrea Dalatri also added two hits for CBA.

 

At Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Ocean 14, Upper St. Clair (Pa.) 11

Junior Kenny Pickett, senior Tyler Rossback and senior Brian Olesen each drove in three runs and the Spartans (3-0) won a slugfest in Myrtle Beach. Pickett led the way with three hits, while junior Alec Keezer, senior Brian Kochenash and Olesen each had two. Pickett also drove in three runs, while Keezer allowed a run over three innings to earn the save.

Ocean 7, Mount Tabor (N.C.) 6 (8 Innings)

The Spartans scored four runs in the seventh inning to send the game to extra innings and freshman Max Winters plated the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth to help Ocean finish a 4-0 trip to South Carolina.

Junior Anthony Tedesco, Alec Keezer, Jake Talarico and sophomore Jake D'Auria delivered four consecutive Ocean singles that drove in four runs and tied the game at 6. D'Auria finished with two hits and two RBI, while Tedesco, Keezer and Talarico each had two hits and an RBI.

Brian Kochenash earned his first career win with two scoreless innings of relief.
