Every week this season, Shore Conference football fans will get their chance to vote for the Ace Outdoor Power Equipment Football Player of the Week on our website, with more than 150,000 votes already cast in the first six weeks.

The latest recipient of the fans’ voting is Middletown North senior tight end/linebacker Troy Thompson. A standout two-way player and three-year veteran, Thompson has been voted by the fans as the Ace Outdoor Power Equipment Shore Conference Football Player of the Week for his performance in 21-7 win over Ocean in a nondivisional game. Thompson had 8 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown, and he also had a 30-yard fumble return for a touchdown on defense to help the Lions (3-2) tie their win total from all of last season and stay right in the hunt for a second straight state playoff berth.
