Wrestling – NJSIAA Team Tournament Seeds and Matchups

The seeds for the 2017 NJSIAA Team Tournament were released on Tuesday morning during the state seeding meeting at the NJSIAA headquarters in Robbinsville.

A team's top-10, power-point-producing, in-state matches count toward qualifying for the state tournament. Once teams are pre-seeded, a team can jump over another team directly above it based on a head-to-head win.

The seeds are not official until Wednesday.

The Tournament begins on Monday Feb. 6 with the quarterfinals and continues on Wednesday Feb. 8 with the semifinals as the site of the higher seed. The sectional finals are Friday Feb. 10, hosted by the highest remaining seed. The NJSIAA Group Championships are Sunday Feb. 12 at Pine Belt Arena on the campus of Toms River North.

Twenty seven Shore Conference teams have qualified, including three No. 1 seeds. Jackson Memorial is the top seed in Central Jersey Group IV, Point Beach is the top seed in Central Jersey Group I and Howell is the No. 1 seed in South Jersey Group V. Each are defending champions, although Howell was in Central Jersey Group V last season. Southern, which is seeded second in South Jersey Group V, is that sections defending champion and also the reigning overall Group V champion.
