Tyler Klinsky, Stanley Wojdylak, Nicko Cofone and Jacob Anderson each won district titles to lead Middletown North to a second-place finish behind Hunterdon Central.

Klinsky, a returning Region 5 champion, won by 7-4 decision over Hunterdon Central's Colton Washleski to win the 113-pound title. Wojdylak won by fall in all three of his bouts, including pinning Hunterdon Central's Vincent Romaniello in 5:14 to win the 145-pound title in a matchup of returning district champs. Cofone repeated as a district champion with a 5-1 decision over Hunterdon Central's Michael Dooley at 182 pounds. Anderson remained undefeated with a blistering run to the 195-pound title, pinning returning district champ Kyle Baszak of South River in the final.

Middletown North advanced a total of 10 wrestlers to the Region 5 Tournament as Thomas O'Keefe finished second at 106 pounds, Fred Luchs was second at 120 and Austin Dewise took third at heavyweight. Nate Pujols (126), Jonathan Provenzano (132) and Nico Cerbo (160) each wrestled back to take the third and final regional qualifying spot.

Justin Weimer and Adam Markman each captured district titles to help Middletown South finish tied with Hillsborough for third place. Weimer won by 11-3 major decision over Hunterdon Central's Dam Furmato in the 170-pound final and Markman used a five-point move to defeat Dewise, 8-3 in overtime, to win the heavyweight title.

The Eagles will send six wrestlers to the Region 5 Tournament. Danny Ward took second at 138 pounds and Brady Smith took second at 220, the latter falling in double overtime to Hunterdon Central's Angelo Crespo. Michael Holland (113) and Jack Hardzewicz (182) each finished third.

Liam Riecks finished third at 195 for Keansburg to advance to regions. He won 5-3 over Hunterdon Central's Lukas Bakerian in the third-place bout.

Red Bank's Edison Quesada, Sam Goldzweig and Tucker Cochrane each qualified for the Region 5 Tournament while Keyport's Jaleel Gopaul also advanced.

Quesada finished second at 220 pounds, falling to Manville's Matthew Rogalski by pin in the third period. Goldzweig wrestled back to take third with an 11-3 major decision over Manville's Gavin Potts while Cochrane defeated Piscataway's Daniel Mikita, 9-5, to take third at 113 pounds.

Gopaul was defeated by Montgomery's Emmanuel Perera, 2-1 in double overtime, in the 126-pound final.

Dean Peterson, Charles Peterson, Blake Clayton, Steven Giannios and Paul Liseno captured district titles to lead St. John Vianney to the first district team title in program history.

Dean Peterson cruised to the 106-pound title with a pair of first-period falls, including a 56-second pin of Old Bridge's Vincent Nadera in the final to continue his outstanding freshman season and improve to 30-0. Charles Peterson won by 7-2 decision over Delaware Valley's Gage Crater to take the 132-pound title, his first district crown. Clayton won by 17-3 major decision over Pingry's Holden Shikany to take the 152-pound title. Giannios dominated the 220-pound bracket and repeated as district champ with a 19-4 technical fall over Sayreville's Joseph Porcaro and Liseno made quick work of the heavyweight bracket with pins in 0:09, 0:53 and 1:37 to win his second district title.

The Lancers will send a total of 10 wrestlers to the Region 5 Tournament. Joseph Butler (113), Tyler Pepe (120) and Josiah Walker (195) each placed second while Nick Caracappa (170) and Jaden Lowe (182) finished third. Butler lost by 13-0 major decision to Pingry's Brandon Spellman, a returning district champion. Pepe lost by fall to Old Bridge's Jake Wiatroski in a matchup of returning district champions. Walker was pinned by Delaware Valley's Eli Kalfaian.

Rumson produced multiple district champions for the first time since 2003 as Nick Addison won the 170-pound title and Liam Horan took the crown at 182 pounds. Addison came away with a 7-6 win over Caracappa in the semifinals to reverse an 8-1 loss in the Shore Conference Tournament final. He then won by 15-0 technical fall over Delaware Valley's Shawne Ramsby to repeat as district champion. Horan pinned Delaware Valley's Kyle Carney in 3:36 to take his first district title.

Tristan Izzo (106) and Max Brignola (126) will join Addison and Horan at the Region 5 Tournament after placing third at their respective weights. Izzo edged Sayreville's Dylan Acevedo, 5-4, in the third-place bout while Brignola blanked Edison's Michael O'Brien, 6-0.

Marlboro's Evan Brown also advanced to the Region 5 Tournament by defeating Old Bridge's Javi Espinosa, 11-5, in the 152-pound third-place bout.

Raritan won its ninth district team title and second in a row as Robert Taddeo, Russell Benson, A.J. Erven, Christian Sookdeo, Anthony Aquilano and Ethan Wolf won district title and Mike Lonnay, James Ecklyn, Dylan Lonnay, George Burdick, Justin Acevedo and Matt Spirko finished in the top three to give the Rockets 12 Region 5 qualifiers.

Taddeo repeated as district champion with a 15-0 technical fall over Matawan's Kamrin O'Neill to take the 113-pound title. Benson became the third Raritan wrestler to win three district titles when he defeated Perth Amboy's James Rodriguez, 3-1, in the 132-pound final. Erven won his first district title by beating Monroe's Andrew Lombard, 3-1, in the 138-pound final.

At 145 pounds Sookdeo won the rubber match with Holmdel's Dean Gallo, 2-1 in double overtime, to win his first district title. Aquilano earned payback for a loss earlier this season by defeating Holmdel's Dean Gallo, 9-4, to win the 160-pound championship for his first district title. Wolf was untested in winning his second straight 220-pound district title with two pins and a 10-1 major decision over New Brunswick's Keshon Davila in the final.

Dylan Lonnay was second at 170 pounds and Spirko was second at heavyweight. Mike Lonnay (120), Ecklyn (152), Burdick (182) and Acevedo (195) took third.

Scott Dupont became Holmdel's first two-time district champ since Chris Spagnoli in 1991 and 1992 when he won by fall over Matawan's Alwayne Mitchell in 1:53 in the 160-pound final. In addition to the second-place finishes by Gallo and O'Beirne, Nicholas Ammirati (106), Tom Ammirati (126) and Victor Kizenko (285) each finished third to give the Hornets six Region 5 qualifiers.

O'Neill and Mitchell were Matawan's only district medalists.

Howell's Kyle Slendorn won his fourth district title and became the sixth Shore Conference wrestler to reach 150 career wins as Rebels rolled to their third straight and 13th overall district team championship.

Jerry Lleshi (113), Darby Diedrich (126), Dan Esposito (138), Shane Reitsma (170) and Christian Murphy (182) also won district titles while Howell qualified 13 of its 14 wrestlers for the Region 6 Tournament. Lleshi won his first district title with a 22-7 technical fall over Robbinsville's Drake Torrington in the 113-pound final. Diedrich became the fourth wrestler in program history to win three district titles when he won by 8-0 major decision over Jackson Liberty's Josh Bollard in the 126-pound final.

At 132, Slendorn remained undefeated (36-0) by pinning all three of his opponents and pushing his career win total to 152, which is No. 6 all-time in Shore Conference history. He is seven wins away from breaking the record of 158 set by Raritan's Dan Seidenberg in 2009. He also joined Zac Cunliffe as the only Howell wrestlers to win four district championships.

Esposito won by 10-6 decision over Allentown's Matthew Paglia to win the 138-pound title for his second district title. Reitsma defeated Allentown's Liam McDermott for the second straight year to win the 170-pound title, this time by a 9-3 decision in a matchup of returning state qualifiers. Murphy also claimed his second district title with a 3-1 overtime win over Northern Burlington's Tommy Hill at 182 pounds.

Ethan Liptzin (120), Paul Jakub (145), Xavier Kelly (152), Rashaun Hansford (195) and Scott Prendergast (285) each placed second while Jesse Liptzin (106) and Joe Sardina (220) battled back for third.

Chavis Coleman led Jackson Liberty by winning the 195-pound title with a 5-0 win over Hansford. Bollard was second at 126.

Neptune's Alex Sanchez was second to Slendorn at 132 while Cairo Henderson-Stewart took third at 138.

Long Branch senior Pete Wersinger earned his 100th career win en route to his first district title while Chris Dean, Ryan Carey and Dan Santos-Silva also won district championships to lead the Green Wave to the team title for the second straight year.

Wersinger won by 12-3 major decision over Steinert's Nick Pasquan to take the 195-pound title. Dean secured a 12-2 major decision over Hightstown's Kether Thornton in the 126-pound final while Carey edged Manaquan's Ethan Dzenis, 4-3, in the 138-pound final. Santos-Silva won by 5-1 decision over Jared Hoeler to win the 170-pound championship.

Long Branch qualified a total of nine wrestlers for the Region 6 Tournament as Ryan Zimmerman (113), Isaac Shohet (145) and Kevin Cerruti (285) placed second and Rey Guzman (120) and Louie Saez (160) took third.

Point Beach did not have any champions but finished second overall with eight region qualifiers. Riley Simon (120), Jesse Bowers (132), Jimmy Sherlock (152), Jason Sherlock (160) and Jared Hoeler (170) each finished second while Kip Lovgren (106), Liam Buday (195) and Santino Giampa (220) took third.

Wall had four champions and six total region qualifiers to finish fourth despite entering just 11 wrestlers. Junior Rob Kanniard remained undefeated (38-0) by crushing the competition at 160 pounds with two pins and a 19-4 technical fall in the final to win his third district title. Senior Jack Kelly won the 145-pound title with a 12-4 major decision over Shohet for his second district championship. Freshman Jake Whitworth won by 14-5 major decision over Jimmy Sherlock in the 152-pound final and sophomore Cole Meyer defeated Delran's Mark Harrison, 6-2, to win the 106-pound district championship.

Tyler Ferris (113) and Shane Golumb (138) placed third for the Crimson Knights.

Freehold sophomore Nico Messina defeated Long Branch sophomore Ryan Zimmerman, 6-3, to win the 113-pound title and be voted as Oustanding Wrestler. Messina defeated Zimmerman in last season's 106-pound district final. His Freehold's first two-time district champion since Josh Davis (2008 and 2010). Michael Gagliardo and Tony Dushku finished third at 126 and 132, respectively, for the Colonials.

Asbury Park senior Jalen Paige captured his second district championship with a 4-2 victory over Long Branch's Kevin Cerruti in the heavyweight final.

Lakewood's Dante Morris won the 220-pound district title with a 7-4 decision over Delran's Burak Ozbay to become the Piners' first district champion since David Jusino in 2010.

Dzenis narrowly missed out on becoming Manasquan's first district champion since 2004 when he fell to Carey, 4-3, in the 138-pound final but nevertheless advanced to the Region 6 Tournament.

Ocean senior Jake Benner became the first Spartans wrestler to win four district championships and also tied the program record for career wins to lead Ocean to its second straight district team title.

Benner, the reigning 138-pound state champion, won by 15-0 technical fall over Shore's Mike McGhee in the final for his fourth title and his 139th win, which tied Kyle Kiss for the program's all-time mark.

Benner was one of four champions for Ocean. Freshman Demetri Poniros won a wild 12-10 decision over Shore freshman Jack Maida to take the 106-pound title and his brother, sophomore Alex Poniros, won his second district title with a 10-3 decision over Notre Dame's Joe Schneider in the 132-pound final. At 160 pounds, Anthony Esposito defeated Freehold Township's Ryan Fiolek, 10-6, to win his first district title.

William Tisony (113), Adam Manzo (120), Jack Nies (126) and Saif Ali (145) each finished second while Emerson Derose (152) and Joe Teresi (285) placed third to give Ocean 10 Region 6 qualifiers.

CBA finished second with first-place finishes from Richie Koehler, Sam Houston and Cameron DiGiorgio. Koehler became the sixth CBA wrestler to win three district titles when he pinned Manzo in 2:55 in the 120-pound final and was voted as the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrester. Houston won his second district crown by eking out a 1-0 win over Shore's Taylor Sousa at 182 pounds. DiGiorgio claimed the 220-pound title with two pins and a 10-1 major decision over Nottingham's Marc Jordine in the final.

Christian Recantini (152) and Derek Smith (170) finished second and Max Bean (113), Sam LaCorte (132) and Chris Gallegos (138) took third for the Colts.

Host Freehold Township was third overall and had three wrestlers win district titles, led by senior Eric Quartey, who became Freehold Township's first two-time district champion since Rob Morello in 2000 and 2001. Quartey won the 195-pound title with a 7-4 win over Red Bank Catholic's Steve Cmielewski. Fellow senior Kyle Hillermeier defeated CBA's Smith, 7-4, to win the 170-pound district title and freshman Avery Clarke won the 113-pound title with a 6-3 win over Ocean's Tisony.

Fiolek (160) was second and Justin Schifter (106) was third to give the Patriots five Region 6 qualifiers.

Shore sophomore Al Desantis defeated Ocean's Nies, 5-3, to win the 126-pound title as the Blue Devils had a total of seven region qualifiers. Maida (106), McGhee (138) and Sousa (182) finished second and Brad Smuro (120), Jarrett Weir (145) and Mike Rosati (195) took third. Smuro was down 3-0 in the third before locking in a cradle and pinning Freehold Township's Hector Santiago. Weir defeated returning region qualifier Kyle Cleary (Freehold Township), 9-2, in the third-place bout.

Red Bank Catholic will send five wrestlers to the Region 6 Tournament as Cmielewski (195) and Michael Griggs (285) finished second and Daniel Brewton (126), Aidan Meyler-McAuliffe (160) and John Columbia (182) placed third.

Ricky Voss took third at 220 pounds and was the lone Monmouth Regional wrestler to advance. He defeated Freehold Township's Austin Colbert, 2-1, in the third-place bout.

One year after having its streak of 33 straight years with a district champ snapped, Vinnie Scollo, Ryan Bohringer, Brock Winson and Kyle Epperly each won district titles to lead Jackson Memorial to a third-place finish in the team standings.

Scollo won by 3-1 decision over Holy Cross's Connor Mullarkey to win the 106-pound title while Bohringer dominated the 152-pound field with three pins, including a fall over Camden Catholic's Harrison Hinojosa in the final. Winston was untested in winning the 160-pound title with a fall, technical fall and a 13-4 major decision over Sterling's Mike Schneider in the final. Epperly made quick work of Camden Catholic's Anthony Blattenberger to win by fall in 49 seconds and take the 170-pound title.

A total of eight Jaguars reached the Region 7 Tournament by finishing in the top three. Brad Galassi used a 7-5 overtime win over Audubon's Jeffrey Jordan to reach the 195-pound final where he fell to Camden Catholic's Jeremy Nutt, 12-6. Carsten Digiantomasso took third at 138 pounds with a pin over Audubon's Kyle Evans. Nick Tomasiello also took third by besting Moorestown's Christopher Tenenbaum, 8-5, at 145 pounds. Leo Shimonovich finished third at 182 with a 10-2 major decision over Cherokee's Brandon Noble.

Toms River East freshman Michael Conklin won the 120-pound title and was voted the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler. Conklin defeated Paulsboro's Geno Duca, 15-10, in the final and had victories by fall in 31 and 32 seconds, respectively, in his first two bouts.

Senior heavyweight Brandon Austin finished second and Alex Gorlin took third at 126 pounds for the Raiders.

Donovan Catholic had three district champions as Cristiaan Dailey (138), Conor Panzarella (160) and Sal DiSalvo (220) each repeated as champions to match the program record for most single-season district champs the trio set last season.

Dailey defeated Paulsboro's Shawn Williams, 9-2, in the championship bout and had falls in his first two bouts. Panzarella won by fall in all three of his bouts, pinning Pennsauken's Claudy Vazquez in the final. DiSalvo needed sudden victory to win his second title but pulled through with a 4-2 win over Cherry Hill West's Dimitri Serrano.

Cael Rankin finished second at 113 to give the Griffins four Region 7 qualifiers.

Manchester's Jonathan Salvemini finished third at 106 to advance to the Region 7 tournament. He defeated Cinnaminson's Nicholas Schuler, 12-5, in the consolation final.

Hunter Gutierrez, Luke Moynihan, Luke Gauthier and Vincent Cegile captured district titles to lead Lacey to a third-place finish in the team standings.

Gutierrez became Lacey's third three-time district champion and first since Russ Witt (1995-1997; current CBA head coach) by coasting to the 113-pound title with two first-period pins and a 16-0 technical fall over Rancocas Valley's Jacob Kosowski in the final.

Moynihan bested Rancocas Valley's Jiya Gannone, 7-3, to win the 132-pound title in a matchup of returning state qualifiers. The district title is Moynihan's second and first since winning the District 24 106-pound title as a freshman. Gauthier won by fall in all three of hits bouts and finished off his first district championship with a pin over Haddon Township's Chad Ball. Cegile, a freshman, continued his strong wrestling of late by taking down returning district champion Gabriel Klaus of Haddonfield, 7-5, in the 195-pound final.

Quint Kearns finished second at 182 pounds and Jackson Brandt was third at 160 for Lacey.

Central's Nick Rivera won the 106-pound title with an 8-7 win over Haddonfield's Ryan Bolletino. Joe Zaccaro (126) and Curtis Lively (138) each placed third for the Golden Eagles.

Brick had two wrestlers advance to the Region 7 Tournament as Joe Ferigne finished second at 120 pounds and Richie Cosgrove took third at 145 pounds.

Ryan Rosenthal, Nick Rielly, Nick Boggiano and Juan Nakano each won district titles and four more Toms River North wrestlers finished in the top three as the Mariners won their first district team title since 1971.

Reilly became just the third Toms River North wrestler to win three district titles when he defeated Shawnee's Ed Morriarity, 7-4 in double overtime, to win the 120-pound title. Rosenthal won by fall in both of his bouts, including pinning Shawne's Ethan Greenberg in the final, to win the 106-pound championship. In one of the top finals matchups in the district, Boggiano defeated Toms River South's Riley Cheong, 5-0, in the 138-pound final. Nakano won by 14-2 major decision over Lenape's Ross Capri to take the 170-pound title.

Jack Olesek (132) and Michael Nakano (182) each finished second and Mark Fedeli (126) and Anthony Clavijo (195) placed third.

Toms River South senior Cole Corrigan became the Indians' third four-time district champion by winning the 152-pound title. He had two pins and a 17-6 major decision over Pemberton's Joseph Wilson, a returning district champion, in the final. Corrigan joins B.J. Clagon and Owen McClave as four-time champs.

Cheong was second at 138 while Justin Murray came from the No. 6 seed to finish third at 106 pounds and Billy Zyckowski did the same to take third at 182.

Matt Barnett, Nick Pepe and John Stout each won their first district titles and nine other Southern wrestlers placed in the top three as the Rams won their eighth straight district team championship.

Barnett, a two-time state qualifier, pinned Woodstown's Giovanni Chiesa in 1:26 to win the 132-pound title. Pepe scored a 9-6 decision over Woodstown's Brian Berry to win the 145-pound title and Stout defeated Kingsway's Colin Wexler, 7-4, to take the title at 170 pounds.

Matt Brielmeier (106), Sebastian Delligatti (126), Nick O'Connell (152), Dan Gorman (160) and Matt Mackanic each finished second while Owen Kretschmer (120), Robert Woodcock (138), Ben LoParo (195) and Jayden Smith each wrestled back for third. O'Connell, a returning district champ and the eighth-place finisher in the state tournament at 145 pounds last season, was defeated by Woodstown's Cody Wolf, 12-10 in sudden-victory overtime.

Brennan Richardson and Jacob Mena each finished second and Evan Burton took third for Pinelands to advance to the Region 8 Tournament.

Richardson won by fall versus Overbrook's Malachi Whitfield in the 152-pound semifinals but then suffered a loss by fall against Mainland's Antonio Yeoman in the final. Mena reached the 160-pound final with a 5-0 decision over Pennsville's Abdel Alqutawna but was pinned in 5:55 by Timber Creek's Peyton Jones. Burton clipped Absegami's Luke Wescoat, 6-4, to take third at 195 pounds.
