Wrestling – District 22 Brackets

The NJSIAA District 22 brackets were released following the seeding meeting Wednesday night at Red Bank Regional.
District 22 is the only of Region VI's district's to run a two-day tournament, and will begin on Friday night at 5:30 p.m. with the pre-quarterfinal round with the quarterfinals to follow at 6 p.m. The tournament resumes Saturday at 10 a.m. with the semifinal round. The third-place bouts are scheduled for 2 p.m. and the finals at 3 p.m.
The marquee bracket is 195 pounds, where defending Region VI champion Michael Oxley (30-2) of Christian Brothers Academy is the top seed and Keansburg standout Tyree Sutton (28-1) is the No. 2 seed.
District 22 also features a pair of undefeated wrestlers in CBA sophomore 106 Sebastian Rivera (30-0) and Raritan senior 182 Kyle Lynch (32-0). Rivera is the No. 1 seed and the heavy favorite to take him the title. Lynch is the No. 2 seed behind Middletown North sophomore Chad Freshnock (30-3).
