Every week this spring, WindMill Restaurants and Shore Sports Network will be selecting a Boys Lacrosse Team of the Week based on its performance over the past week.

The WindMill Team of the Week for Week 8 (May 21 to May 27) is Rumson-Fair Haven, which won its second straight state sectional title by defeating Somerville to claim the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 championship. Shore Sports Network was at practice Monday to present the Bulldogs and head coach Marc Moreau with a special certificate and a $300 WindMill gift card.

In the semifinals, sophomore midfielder Kiel Forlenza scored three times - all in the third quarter - while senior midfielder Billy Garavente scored twice and Sean Bunnell made 10 saves to send the Bulldogs to a 9-6 win over Wall. Wyatt Feinberg and Patrick Jamin added a goal and an assist each, Rowan Goldin and Jack Whitelaw each scored once and Drew Shaw had two assists as Rumson pulled away from Wall in the second half after holding a 4-3 halftime lead. The victory made it six straight appearances in a sectional final for Rumson.

In the championship game, Rumson squared off against Somerville and took an early lead en route to a 12-6 victory to take home the program's fourth sectional title. Goldin and Jamin each scored twice with one assist Wyatt Feinberg, Forlenza, Shaw and Sam Mannino also scored two goals each as the Bulldogs defeated the Pioneers to capture their second straight sectional title.

Rumson jumped out to a 5-2 lead after the first quarter and pushed its advantage to 7-2 at halftime. Somerville scored three times in the third quarter to close the gap to 8-5, but the Bulldogs closed strong with four goals over the final 12 minutes to wrap up the program's fourth state sectional championship.

The Bulldogs will take on Summit, the No. 2 team in the NJ.com Top 20, in the NJSIAA Group 2 final at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Shore Regional. Rumson is the only Shore Conference team to ever win a state group title, doing so in 2015 with an epic 9-8 overtime win over Mountain Lakes in the Group 1 championship game.
