Week 5 Game of the Week Takes Us To Brick Memorial [LISTEN]

The Jersey Mike’s Game of the Week takes us to Brick Memorial Friday night for a key Class A South game as the streaking Mustangs host Central Regional at 7 p.m.

Presented by Jersey Mike’s the game will be broadcast live on 92.7 WOBM, Beach Radio 1160 & 1310AM and streamed at shoresportsnetwork.com and on the free Shore Sports Network mobile app.

Following a season-opening loss to Brick, the Mustangs have posted impressive victories over Toms River North, Toms River South, and Sayreville. That win over the previously undefeated Bombers earned coach Walt Currie’s squad the Jersey Mike’s Team of the Week honor. Running back Tony Thorpe and running back/safety Blaine Netterman have sparked the Memorial attack which has averaged 28 points per game during the three-game winning streak.

Central (3-1) is coming off a bye and has had two weeks to prepare for this one and comes in tied with Brick at 3-0 atop the A South division. The Golden Eagles certainly know how to win tight games as they have overtime victories over Southern and Toms River East along with a one-point win over Jackson Memorial. Junior running back Kavon Chambers has been the top offensive threat for Central while linebacker Ryan Emmets leads the defense.

Matt Harmon, Kevin Williams, and Ed Sarluca make up the broadcast team that will call the game.
