CLASS A NORTH
The Lions (10-3, 4-1) rallied from an 11-point deficit with three bouts left to earn a huge victory over the Colts (9-4, 5-1) and move in place to secure a share of the division title.
Sophomore Nicko Cofone came up with a monumental pin over district medalist Garret Fitzgerald at 160 pounds, junior Tom Anderson won by major decision at 170 and junior Brian Winz clinched the match with a pin in 41 seconds at 182 pounds in the final bout.
Senior Anthony Vetrano (17-2) started the match with a 6-1 decision over CBA senior Jack LaCorte (17-2), and two bouts later senior Chad Freshnock, the reigning Region VI 220-pound champion, defeated William Oxley 6-5 at heavyweight in a rematch of last season's region final.
Freshman Nate Pujols also earned a critical victory by defeating CBA freshman Sam LaCorte 5-4 at 126 pounds, and sophomore Stanley Wojdylak won a thrilling bout against CBA senior Carl Vasti 4-2 in sudden victory overtime at 138 pounds.
