CLASS A NORTH

Middletown North 7, Marlboro 6

Brock Zenker scored five goals and Joe Blackwood and Alec Zenker each scored once to lead the Lions (1-2, 1-0) past the Mustangs (1-3, 0-1) for their first win of the season.

Toms River North 11, No. 10 Brick 8

 

CLASS B SOUTH

Lacey 17, Barnegat 0

The Lions (2-0) dominated the rival Bengals (0-1) behind a huge game from junior attackman JoeCarlo Chimenti, who scored five goals and added five assists to power the victory.

Senior attackman Mike Sabarese finished with three goals and two assists and sophomore attackman Dylan Vitale also had a hat trick plus one assist. Senior midfielder Connor Wilson had two goals and one assist, senior attackman Matt Neri scored twice and midfielders Clayton Humcke and Chris Augustine each tallied once.

Junior goalie Justin Covey made seven saves to register the shutout and senior midfielder Nick DeOliveira went 10-2 on face-offs. Lacey led 14-0 at halftime.

 

NONDIVISIONAL

No. 1 Manasquan 17, Colts Neck 0

Senior attackman Jared Birch and sophomore attackman Canyon Birch each scored four goals while the Warriors' defense and goaltending was perfect to blank the Cougars (1-3) and improve to 3-0.

Sophomore midfielder James Pendergist scored three times and senior midfielders Devan Carroll and John Moran each scored once.

 

No. 5 Howell 8, Jackson Liberty 3

Senior midfielder Nico Lorenzo led the way with three goals and one assist as the Rebels (3-0) topped the Lions (0-4) in Jackson. Senior attackman Ryan Damelio added two goals and one assist, Joey Sorrentino and Ryan Choffey each had one goal and one assist and sophomore Jared Badillo scored once. Sophomore goalie Nick Roberto made 12 saves.

Howell led 4-1 at halftime and 6-2 heading into the fourth quarter.

Dylan O'Connor, Max Matthies and Brad McKelvey scored for Jackson Liberty, which received nine saves from sophomore goalie Sean Reid.

 

No. 8 Wall 16, Red Bank Catholic 2

Jack Textor and Kyle Peters each scored four times and Tim O'Hern had one goal and five assists to propel the Crimson Knights (2-0) past the Caseys (1-2).

Will Forte added three goals ad Mike McIntyre scored twice, while Evan Gacos picked up eight ground balls.

Joey Caputo and Jack Zenkert had goals for Red Bank Catholic.

 

Jackson Memorial 22, Red Bank 4

Freshman midfielder Aaron Hutchinson scored a game-high six goals and senior attackman Dakota Neron registered a game-high nine points with five goals and four assists as the Jaguars (2-1) erupted for 22 goals to defeat the Bucs (0-3).

The 22 goals scored by Jackson is a single-game program record. The Jaguars led  7-1 at halftime and poured it on with 15 goals over the final two quarters.

John Chitren added five goals and one assist, Santo Porazzo had four goals and defenseman Sean Duggan had a career-high seven points with two goals and five assists, plus a game-high 14 ground balls. Matt Perillo contributed one goal and one assist. Senior goalie Dylan Furnback made five saves.

Kent Hottman scored twice and Seamus Cochrane and Brady Gilmartin each scored one for Red Bank. Matt Gibson made 12 saves.

 

St. Rose 11, Ranney School 3

Senior attackman Griffin McDermott scored four goals while senior attackman Chris Bormida and junior attackman Shane Reilly each scored three times to lead the Purple Roses (3-0) past the Panthers (0-1).

St. Rose is 3-0 for the first time since 2011, which also marked its last winning season (9-8). The Purple Roses were 5-11 last season.

Matthew Torpey scored all three goals for Ranney and Ian Dobrzynski made 15 saves.

 

Donovan Catholic 8, Toms River East 6

 

NONCONFERENCE

No. 2 Rumson-Fair Haven 16, Notre Dame 9

Senior attackman Charlie Curran scored a game-high five goals while senior attackman Colin Pavluk tallied four goals and senior midfielder Bryan Hess struck for three goals to lead the Bulldogs (3-1) to their third straight victory.

 

Robbinsville 11, No. 3 Freehold Township 7
