CLASS A NORTH

No. 4 CBA 14, Middletown North 0

Junior attackman Mike Carroll scored four goals, senior attackman Nick Casner scored three goals with three assists and senior goalie Ryan McGuiness made 11 saves to lead the Colts (2-3, 2-0) past the Lions.

Robbie Hermansen and Chris Romano added two goals apiece and Luke Valentino had three assists. Connor Macrae, Tom Convery and Connor Ruckert each scored once.

Jake Roche made 10 saves for Middletown North.

 

No. 5 Freehold Township 17, Marlboro 3

Junior attackman Chris Novella poured in six goals with three assists and senior attackman Josh Nastarowicz fired in six goals with two assists as the Patriots (6-3, 3-0) scored early and often against the Mustangs (2-6, 1-4).

Senior attackman Drew Dunn added two goals and three assists and senior midfielders Mike Colicchia and Mike Ferdinadi each scored one. Junior goalie Billy Patten made 12 saves.

 

No. 9 Howell 12, No. 10 Colts Neck 6

Senior attackman Ryan Damelio and senior midfielder Nico Lorenzo each scored four goals to lead the Rebels (6-2, 2-2) past the district rival Cougars (4-5, 2-2).

Damelio also had two assists while senior attackman Drew Bukowiec scored one goal with two assists. Ryan Choffey, Coleman Chrzan and Joey Sorrentino each finished with one goal and one assist each. Freshman midfielder Vaughn Meehan won 14 of 22 face-offs and sophomore goalie Nick Roberto made nine saves.

Howell led 6-4 at halftime but pulled away in the third quarter by outscoring Colts Neck 5-0.

Nick Lago and Hughes each scored twice while Colin Scalea and Zach Alagna had one goal apiece for Colts Neck. Mike Franco made 10 saves.

 

Middletown South 21, Neptune 8

Pete Lawson scored six goals with two assists to lead an offensive explosion for the Eagles (5-1, 2-0), who won their fifth game in a row by blitzing the Scarlet Fliers (1-6, 0-3) with a program-record 21 goals.

Noah Diodato scored four goals with three assists and Zach Albrecht added four goals and two assists for Middletown South. Alec Madden finished with two goals and two assists while Mike Pagliettini, Pat Walsh, Dan Rossi, Mike Gallicchio and Maxx Imsho each scored once. Matt Marino made six saves.

Nick Brown had a hat trick and Tyler Rossi and Kevin Clohosey each scored twice for Neptune. Jahi Neely added one goal, Chase Fairbanks picked up 16 ground balls and Dominic Ciocca made seven saves.

 

 

CLASS A SOUTH

Brick 13, Toms River South 12 (OT)

Andrew Xiques tallied four goals and Ethan Lucas scored three goals with two assists in the loss for the Indians (3-3, 1-2). Anthony Alvarez added two goals and three assists, Cooper Guzzi had two goals and one assist and Timmy Kaiser finished with one goal and two assists. John Debuduo made 13 saves.

 

Toms River East 9, Toms River North 8

 

CLASS B NORTH

No. 2 Rumson-Fair Haven 16, Shore 1

Senior attackmen Colin Pavluk and Alex Werner and senior midfielder Bryan Hess each scored three goals to lead the Bulldogs (8-1, 4-0) past the Blue Devils (5-3, 3-1) and extend their winning streak to eight games.

It was another game with balanced scoring for Rumson as 10 different players scored goals. Conor Deverin made three saves and Liam Moriarty stopped two shots as the two split time in goal.

Sophomore Jack McCrae scored the lone goal for Shore.

 

No. 8 Ocean 16, Red Bank Catholic 0

Senior Sam Hanna continued his torrid scoring pace with five goals and five assists, while senior goalie David Walk made five saves to earn his fifth career shutout as the Spartans (6-2, 2-2) blanked the Caseys (2-6, 1-3).

Hanna also picked up a team-high eight ground balls. It is the second time this season Hanna has hit the 10-point mark. He had 11 points (8 goals) in a win over Jackson Liberty on April 10.

Cole Conti and Mike Nies each had hat tricks while Jesse Gionatti and Jordan Ornowski each finished with two goals and two assists. Holden Lowe added one goal and three assists.

 

Red Bank 13, Long Branch 0

Kent Hottman scored four goals, Will Spencer had a hat trick and Dan Bonanno tallied one goal with three assists as the Bucs (1-6, 1-2) shut out the Green Wave (0-7, 0-3) to pick up their first victory of the season.

Seamus Cochrane scored twice, Pat Karr added one goal and two assists and Brady Gilmartin and Dan Delgado each scored once. Matt Gibson made four saves.

 

No. 7 St. John Vianney by forfeit over Ranney (officially 1-0 SJV win)

 

CLASS B SOUTH

No. 1 Manasquan 19, No. 6 Wall 7

Brothers Jarrett and Canyon Birch each hit career milestones as the Warriors (6-1, 1-0) overpowered the rival Crimson Knights (5-1, 2-1) to open up their division schedule.

Jarrett Birch, a senior, scored seven goals to reach 200 career goals while Canyon, a sophomore, also scored seven goals to hit the 100 goal mark for his young career. The Warriors led 6-1 after the first quarter and 12-3 at halftime, never letting Wall get any momentum going.

Senior midfielder Devan Carroll added two goals and senior attackman Joe Tonkovitch tallied one goal with two assists. Sophomores James Pendergist and Casey Campbell each scored once while senior Tom Pollock and sophomore Mike Lapoint each played a half in goal making one save each.

Will Forte scored five goals for Wall while Mike McIntyre and Jack Textor each scored once. Sean DeMott made nine saves.

 

Lacey 15, Donovan Catholic 7

Senior midfielder Connor Wilson reached 100 career goals with four goals and one assist to power the Lions (4-1, 3-0) past the Griffins (2-2, 0-2).

Dylan Vitale finished with three goals and one assist, Mike Sabarese and Ryan Giles scored twice and JoeCarlo Chimenti added one goal and one assist for Lacey. Clayton Humcke, Jarred Lotruglio and Chris Augustine had one goal each while Justin Covey made seven saves to earn the win. Matt Neri finished with two assists.

Senior midfielder Pete Schlendorf led Donovan Catholic with four goals. Hunter MacPherson scored twice and Andrew Schlendorf scored once while Peter Rao made six saves.

 

St. Rose 13, Barnegat 2

Chris Bormida fired in five goals and Jack Cusack had a hat trick for the Purple Roses (5-1, 1-1) in their road victory over the Bengals (1-5, 1-1).

Shane Reilly finished with two goals and three assists and Griffin McDermott sank two goals and also had two assists. Matt Bogdan scored once and Billy Frost had two assists. Robbie Brugnoli made seven saves.

Dylan Corbett and Frank Sweet scored for Barnegat, while Julian Schoenberger made 17 saves.
