Vote for the Week 5 Shore Conference Football Player of the Week

Week 5 featured some great individual performances on the ground, through the air and on defense and special teams.

Now it’s time to get your vote in for who had the top performance in the Shore this weekend to choose the Orthopaedic Institute of Central Jersey/Shore Sports Network Player of the Week. The winner will be announced on Wednesday right here on ShoreSportsNetwork.com. Voting will end Tuesday at midnight.

Week 5 Player of the Week nominees (listed in alphabetical order)

Canyon Birch, Sr., RB/LB, Manasquan

Birch ran for 144 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries, including a 74-yard touchdown run on Manasquan’s second offensive play, to help the Warriors top Colts Neck, 41-6, and clinch the Liberty Division title. Birch also had 1.5 sacks and a tackle for loss on defense.

 

Evan Burton, Sr., RB, Pinelands 

Burton ran for 126 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, and it was his 70-yard touchdown run in the third quarter that stood up as the game-winning points in a 20-16 win over Jackson Liberty.

 

Vinny Condito, Jr., RB/DL, Middletown South

Condito ran for 84 yards on 21 carries, and it was his blocked extra point in the third quarter that enabled the Eagles to rally for a 14-13 win over Toms River North to clinch the American Division title.

 

Drew Faccone, Sr., QB, Monmouth

Faccone completed 5 of 8 passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns to help guide the Falcons to a 37-21 victory over Matawan for their first win of the season.

 

Justin Gorski, Jr., RB/DB, Lacey 

Gorski ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries and also came down with the game-clinching interception with one second on the clock as the Lions edged Lakewood, 21-20.

 

Junior Haughton, So., RB, Asbury Park

Haughton ran for 121 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries, averaging 7.6 yards per carry, to help the Blue Bishops defeat Manchester, 30-14.

 

Malik Ingram, Jr., RB, Mater Dei Prep

Ingram averaged an unreal 30.8 yards per carry in the Seraphs’ 43-0 win over Barnegat to clinch the Patriot Division title. He broke an 84-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage and finished with 185 yards rushing and two touchdowns on just six carries.

 

Matt Krauss, Sr., QB, Freehold

Krauss carried 37 times for 272 yards and two touchdowns and also threw for 73 yards as the Colonials defeated St. John Vianney, 17-12.

 

Cameron LaMountain, Jr., RB, Holmdel

LaMountain ran for 153 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries as the Hornets earned a huge 21-11 victory over Donovan Catholic that put them in the driver’s seat for the National Division title.

 

Nigel Mitchell, Sr., RB/WR, Red Bank

Mitchell ran for 123 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries (11.2 ypc) and also caught a touchdown pass during the Bucs’ 35-7 win over Toms River East.

 

Steve Lubischer, Sr., QB, Red Bank Catholic 

Lubischer completed 9 of 15 passes for 203 yards and two touchdown and also ran for 61 yards and a touchdown (49 yards) to lead the top-ranked Caseys to a 41-14 win over No. 4 Long Branch that clinched the Freedom Division championship.

 

Nic Nasso, Jr., RB, Freehold Township 

Nasso ran for 127 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries (8.5 yards per rush) to help the Patriots defeat Howell, 24-20.

 

Dylan Richey, Sr., QB, Wall

Richey had a career game in the Crimson Knights’ 49-21 win over Southern with 269 total yards and six touchdowns. He completed 10 of 11 passes for 143 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 126 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries. He added three tackles on defense.

 

Nico Santorelli, Jr., RB, Manalapan

Santorelli averaged nearly 23 yards per carry and totaled three touchdowns in Manalapan’s 42-14 win over Central. Santorelli ran for 137 yards and touchdowns of 64 and 55 yards on just six carries and also hauled in a 46-yard touchdown pass.

 

Tyler Sindel, Sr., QB, Brick Memorial

Sindel ran for 158 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries to lead the Mustangs to a 42-21 victory over Middletown North.

 

Jaylen Smith, Jr., DB, Raritan 

Smith had a 22-yard fumble return for a touchdown and then combined with Justin Acevedo to stuff a 2-point conversion attempt with no time left as the Rockets earned a thrilling 21-20 victory over Point Boro to improve to 4-1 for the first time since 2009.

 

Shykim Treadwell, Sr., QB, Keyport 

Treadwell had a 2-yard touchdown run and threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Matt Twigg as the Red Raiders took back the Bayshore Bell with a 20-18 win over rival Keansburg.

 

Keegan Woods, Sr., LB, Rumson-Fair Haven 

Woods made 12 tackles and recorded one sack as the Bulldogs shutout Brick, 13-0, to clinch the Colonial Division title.
