Week 4 featured some great individual performances on the ground, through the air and on defense and special teams.

Week 4 Player of the Week nominees (listed in alphabetical order)

Charlie Cotton, Sr., RB, Barnegat

Cotton carried the load for the Bengals with 117 yards rushing and a career-high four touchdowns on 32 carries as Barnegat beat Matawan, 40-10, for its first 4-0 start since 2013.

 

Dean Gallo, Sr., RB, Holmdel

Gallo averaged 9.1 yards per carry in rushing for 64 yards and three touchdowns on just seven attempts in the Hornets' 42-0 win over Keyport.

 

Raven Joseph, Sr., WR, Neptune

Joseph was a big-play machine in Neptune’s thrilling 24-21 win over Point Boro with three receptions for 150 yards and three touchdowns, hauling in scoring passes of 89, 43 and 18 yards from sophomore quarterback Nino Bua.

 

Casey Larkin, So., RB, Wall

Larkin ran for 141 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries to lead Wall’s ground attack in a 28-0 victory over Marlboro.

 

Steve Lubischer, Sr., QB, Red Bank Catholic

Lubischer completed 9 of 13 passes for 151 yards and four touchdowns to lead the top-ranked Caseys to a 35-0 win over Toms River East.

 

Alex Maldjian, Sr., RB, Rumson-Fair Haven

Maldjian continued his outstanding season by rushing for 143 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries in the Bulldogs’ 49-7 win over Middletown North. He scored on runs of 60 and 63 yards to help Rumson build a 35-7 halftime lead.

 

Makai Mickens, Jr., RB, Red Bank

Mickens ran for 239 yards and three touchdowns and also intercepted a pass on defense to lead the Bucs to a 23-13 comeback win over Ocean. Mickens ran for two 3-yard touchdowns to give Red Bank a 14-13 lead after trailing 13-0 at halftime, and his interception set up his own 21-yard touchdown run to push the lead to 21-13.

 

Dominick Nocero, So., RB/LB, Donovan Catholic

Nocero made 16 tackles with one tackle for loss and also caught a 44-yard touchdown pass as the Griffins shut out Asbury Park, 24-0, to start 3-0 for the first time in over 15 years.

 

Liam Riecks, Sr., QB, Keansburg

Riecks completed 8 of 9 passes for 181 yards and three touchdowns as the Titans blanked Point Beach, 32-0.

 

Dale Sieczkowski, Sr., RB/LB, Manalapan

Sieczkowski ran for 121 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, caught a 16-yard touchdown pass and made eight tackles on defense in the Braves’ 34-0 victory over Howell.

 

Leo Shimonovich, Sr., RB, Jackson Memorial

Shimonovich ran behind a dominant offensive line in a 41-14 win over Lacey and produced 102 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 13 carries as the Jaguars clinched at least a share of the Constitution Division title.

 

Tyler Sindel, Sr., QB, Brick Memorial

Sindel ran for 171 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries as the Mustangs ran for over 325 yards as a team and earned a huge 31-21 road victory over No. 8 St. John Vianney.

 

Colin Taptich, Sr., K, Freehold Township

Taptich kicked three field goals and one extra point, including a game-winning 22-yard field goal with three seconds left in regulation as the Patriots stunned No. 5 Toms River North, 16-14. Taptich also connected on field goals of 38 and 24 yards.

 

Rashid Tuddles, Sr., FB/DB, Manasquan

 Tuddles ran for 108 yards on 10 carries, caught a 29-yard touchdown pass and had an interception and 57-yard return to set up a touchdown as the Warriors beat Monmouth Regional, 27-7, to start 4-0 for the first time since 2011.
