Last year it was a 17-man Shore Conference contingent spearheaded by three players that led the South all-stars to a thrilling win over the North all-stars in the Phil Simms North-South All-Star Classic. This year the Shore will have 12 representatives when the game is played for the 38th time at 7 p.m. on Monday at Kean University.

Taking part will be Matawan defensive back Shawn Ramcheran and offensive lineman Mike Kawaka, Long Branch offensive lineman Joe Jasio and linebacker Brandon Lane, St. John Vianney linebacker Calvin Beaty, Keyport running back Ky'Sun Pryor, Colts Neck linebacker Nick Gargiulo, Lakewood offensive lineman Elijah Gil, Holmdel offensive lineman Steve Nelson, Lacey offensive lineman Joe McAvoy, Red Bank defensive lineman Righteon Johnson and Freehold defensive lineman Alec Mahon.

Jasio, Beaty and Ramcheran were second-team All-Shore selections by SSN this past fall while Gargiulo and Lane were third-team picks. Johnson was a member of a Red Bank team that turned in a historic season by winning the Class B North division title and reaching the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III final.

The South leads the all-time series, 18-16-2, after winning last year's game, 23-21. Long Branch's Vinny Mota kicked three field goals, Jackson Memorial's Matt Castronuova returned a kickoff 103 yards and Lacey's Conor Davies threw a touchdown pass to account for all the points for the South team.
