Welcome to the latest edition of the Shore Sports Network’s top plays, highlighting the most dazzling and exciting moments from Shore Conference football action, brought to you by Seaview Orthopaedic & Medical Associates.

This week we take a look at the top clips from Week Eight with only one more week of games before the state playoffs get started.

Here we go:

10. Green machine.

Brick senior quarterback Carmen Sclafani is already over 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards passing for the season. He could potentially have 3,000 yards combined when the smoke clears. Here he is doing his thing against his old team, Toms River North, using his signature hop in traffic to break free for a long run and not satisfied with just running out of bounds at the end.

9. Just like they drew it up.

Lacey quarterback Conor Davies runs into the line and looks like he's going to get sacked, then pulls out of trouble, throws across his body into a crowd, and Mike Bocchini turns it into a touchdown in a loss to Southern.

8. 'Bick' Six

A Donovan Catholic pass doinks off the helmet of an offensive lineman and Central sophomore Mike Bickford is right there to turn it into a touchdown in a win over Griffins.

7. Kick Six.

Donovan Catholic perfectly executed a handoff play that resulted in an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by David Calderon against Central, and Manalapan's Dan Debner turned a kickoff over his head into an 86-yard score against Freehold Boro.

6. I love the '80s (and 90s).

Some long touchdown plays this week as Donovan Catholic's David Calderon broke an 85-yarder against Central, Freehold Township's Anthony Lotti turned a short pass into an 80-yard score against Edison, and Central's Mike Miserendino heaved a bomb to Anthony Arneth for an 85-yard strike against Donovan Catholic. To top it all off, Rumson-Fair Haven quarterback Mike O'Connor tore off a 90-yard touchdown run against Raritan.

5. Trick and treat.

Barnegat pulled out the halfback pass back to the quarterback on Halloween for a crucial touchdown in its 24-22 win over Lakewood. Running back Paul Wickwire makes the throw after taking a handoff on a reverse, then quarterback Cinjun Erskine pulls out a few moves to finish it off for his first touchdown catch in his career.

4. Gold rush.

Shore Regional fullback Doug Goldsmith went almost horizontal while balanced on top of a pile of defenders and somehow came down on his feet for a first down run against Point Beach.

3. Taking it back in black.

Neptune's Cameron Calderon all but ices a big 27-0 win for the scarlet and black over Long Branch with an 88-yard interception return for a touchdown. Extra points for the job done by our own Bob Badders to keep filming despite a seagull flying at him midway through the play.

 2. Slalom course.

A regular in top plays, Red Bank Regional junior Sadiq Palmer makes like Bode Miller on the slopes and zigzags his way through the Holmdel defense for an impressive touchdown.

1. Fast Eddie.

This is in the running for the play of the year. About nine guys on Ocean had a shot at Red Bank Catholic quarterback Eddie Hahn, another Top Plays regular. Whatever cleats Hahn is wearing, they have great ankle support.
