4-Toms River North 35, 5-Kingsway 7

Junior quarterback Mike Husni ran for three touchdowns and threw another to lead the Mariners (9-1) past the Dragons (4-5) for their eighth straight victory.

Husni finished with 75 yards rushing and touchdown runs of 14, 1 and 52 yards. He completed 13 of 17 passes for 210 yards and one touchdown, a 60-yard strike to Kenny Cook that put Toms River North up 21-7 in the third quarter. Sophomore Daryn Blackwell added a rushing touchdown in the first quarter that had the Mariners up 14-0.

Toms River North will travel to top-seeded Lenape for a semifinal game next Friday. Lenape won its first playoff game in program history with a 7-0 victory over Rancocas Valley in the first round. The teams have history in the playoffs, as well. Last season as the No. 8 seed, the Mariners stunned the Indians 19-10 in the first round.
