Shore Sports Network Players of the Week

Offense – Conor Davies, Jr., QB, Lacey

Davies was outstanding in throwing for 207 yards and two touchdowns on 15-for-20 passing in barely over two quarters in Lacey's 32-24 win over Toms River South in an important Class A South clash. Davies normally plays wideout but is also the back-up quarterback and started multiple games last year. He entered the game when starting quarterback Tom Kelly sustained a concussion in the second quarter and was lights-out to help the Lions' high-octane offense not miss a beat.

Defense - RJ Krause, Sr., DL, Manalapan

Krause had 8 tackles, 2 sacks and 4 quarterback pressures. One of his sacks was for a safety, and he spearheaded a run defense that limited Middletown South to 46 yards rushing, including minus-one yard in the second half of a 29-14 victory. Krause, a three-year starter, helped the Braves win their 19th straight divisional game and 19th straight game against Shore Conference competition while picking up a big win in their quest for a fourth straight Class A North title.

Special teams – (tie) Mike Creamer, Sr., K/P, Matawan; Chris Jensen, Sr., DB, Lacey

Even though it came in a 23-13 loss to Neptune, Creamer had a career night for the Huskies. He became the first Shore Conference kicker in recent memory to hit multiple 40-plus-yard field goals in one game when he nailed a career-long 46-yard field goal and a 43-yard field goal. He also hit another 43-yard field goal that was taken off the board when Matawan accepted a roughing the kicker penalty. He also had a 44-yard punt that was downed inside Neptune's 10-yard line and kicked two touchbacks.

Jensen had a crucial play in a 32-24 win over Toms River South when he forced a fumble by the punter and recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown.
