Shore Conference Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week for Week 3

Every week this season, Shore Conference lacrosse fans will have their chance to vote for the Shore Sports Network Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week on our website, with over 40,000 votes cast so far this season.

The Player of the Week fan vote winner for Week 3 is Freehold Township junior attackman Chris Novella, who piled up 22 points on 15 goals and 7 assists in three games from April 17 to April 23.

Novella scored six goals and added two assists when Freehold Township defeated Toms River South, 19-5, on April 18, and followed that up with another six-goal game plus three assists in a 16-3 victory over Marlboro. In a 14-12 loss to Christian Brothers Academy Novella had a hat trick along with two assists.

Novella leads Freehold Township with 33 goals and is second in points with 51. He secured 48.9 percent of the votes to win a poll that featured several outstanding performers. St. John Vianney's Chris Kelly and Ocean's Sam Hanna each scored 7 goals and added 10 assists in just two games, while Manasquan's Canyon Birch continued his fantastic sophomore season with 19 goals in three games, including his 100th career goal.
