Class A South

Brick Memorial 2, Toms River South 1

Sophomore Joe Cordi hit a game-winning single with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning and the Mustangs (5-5, 2-3) rallied for a win over the Indians (2-7, 1-5).

Junior Ryan Turner went 1-for-3 with a double and reached on an error to start the winning rally in the final inning. Seniors Reese Hackett and Joe Gioia each went 2-for-3, with Gioia also scoring a run.

Senior Cole Manfro lasted all seven innings to pick up the win, allowing one earned run on four hits and three walks with five strikeouts on an economical 82 pitches. Manfro also added a double at the plate.

Junior Aidan Folsom allowed one earned run on six hits and no walks over six innings before turning the game over to sophomore Will Endreson, who allowed the unearned run in the seventh.

Mater Dei Prep 11, Keansburg 2

Junior Jake Jacobsen hit a two-run triple to give the Seraphs (1-5, 1-2) some breathing room and the Seraphs finished off the Titans (1-6, 0-5) for their first win of 2021.

Sophomore and winning pitcher Sean Hanna was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and senior Jeremy Ramos finished 1-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Hanna worked the first five innings and allowed two runs on two hits and a walk while striking out four on 88 pitches. Senior Xavier Maldonado finished off the win with two scoreless innings.

Senior and losing pitcher Rian Rivera was 1-for-2 with an RBI double in the first inning to lead Keansburg.

Point Beach 13, Henry Hudson 1 (5 Innings)

Sophomore Jackson Killian struck out 13 in a five-inning two-hitter and the Garnet Gulls (2-3, 2-2) slugged their way to a win over the Admirals (2-5, 2-3) with seven extra-base hits.

Senior Hunter Alia was 3-for-3 with a double, triple, two runs scored and an RBI while junior Phil Trebour went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and three RBI to lead the Point Beach attack.

Senior David Terra-Nova was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI, senior Matt Van Brunt went 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI and senior Stephen Hrisafinas added a pinch-hit double. Junior Colin Matuschat also pitched in by going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI in the win.

Junior Kyle Pollack belted a two-run home run in the fourth inning and sophomore Aiden Cody fired a complete game for his first career win as the Lancers (3-3) topped the Patriots (7-2), who rested some of their regulars after losing in 14 innings Thursday at CBA.

Cody allowed two unearned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five on 104 pitches.

Senior Ryan Sekman opened the scoring with an RBI double in the bottom of the third inning and junior Brady Oswick finished 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for St. John Vianney.

Junior Ryan Keegan went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead Freehold Township.
