Shore Conference Tournament

First Round

1-Rumson-Fair Haven 18, 17-Donovan Catholic 2

Senior midfielder Quinn Lumsden and freshman Luke Lydon each scored three goals as the Bulldogs (13-4) powered their way past the Griffins (9-6) and into the SCT quarterfinals.

Juniors Brody Page and Griffin Kolb each scored twice while seniors Ryan Kalman, Bryce Devlin, and Ethan Smith, junior Andy Croddick, sophomores Vincent Rapahalian, Grayson Goldin, and Britt Lumsden, and freshmen Gus Lyle each scored once.

Marshall Halfacre made four saves in goal to earn the win and Luke Marascio (7-for-9), Rory Keane (5-for-10), and DJ Devine (2-for-3) controlled the face-off X.

Andrew Baltus and Michael Poskay scored Donovan Catholic's goals. Dom Rocci Cinoglio (6 saves) and Jack Barone (1 save) shared time in goal.

Rumson will host eighth-seeded Shore Regional in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

 

2-Wall 20, 15-Howell 1

Senior attackman John McCurry, junior midfielder/attackman Shea Brennan, and sophomore face-off middie Michael Hoarle all had huge games to lead the way for the Crimson Knights (12-4) in their win over the Rebels (7-8) to advance to the SCT quarterfinals.

McCurry notched his sixth career game of double-digit points by registering four goals and seven assists. Brennan set career highs with six goals plus two assists for eight points. Hoarle won 21 of 25 face-offs, picked up 12 ground balls, and tallied a goal and three assists.

Junior midfielder Will Madden had a hat trick, junior attackman Jack Meyer totaled two goals and one assist, and senior midfielder Connor Moore scored twice. Sophomore attackman Owen Moore and freshman midfielder Patrick Freud each scored once and junior goalie Lucas Seelinger made six saves.

Sophomore midfielder Vincent Meehan scored Howell's goal.

Wall will host No. 7 Southern in Tuesday's quarterfinal round.

 

7-Southern 11, 10-Red Bank Catholic 7

Senior midfielder Joey DeYoung scored three goals, junior goalie Nick Roesch made 16 saves, and sophomore face-off specialist Collin Markoski won 13 of 18 draws to help lead the Rams (11-3) past the Caseys (8-7) and into the SCT quarterfinals.

Southern led 4-1 after the first quarter but RBC was able to close the gap to 5-4 at halftime. Southern controlled the third quarter with a 4-1 run to open up a 9-5 lead. Sophomore Liam Griffin tallied two goals and one assist while junior midfielder Anthony Arch and junior attackman Konnor Forlai each scored twice. Senior Ty Murawski supplied a goal and an assist, sophomore Joe Kessler scored once, and senior attackman Hayden Lucas had two assists.

Senior midfielder Sam Fertal had a hat trick and senior LSM/defenseman Nick Cosimaon scored twice and picked up a game-high 12 ground balls. Junior attackman Peter Villare also scored twice and senior midfielder Torin Harmon dished out two assists. Senior goalie Christian Schrader made 11 saves.

Southern will play at No. 2 Wall in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

 

6-Holmdel 15, 11-Point Boro 2

Junior midfielder Will Gilfillan scored four goals and assisted on two others, freshman attackman Finnegan Buchan scored four goals with one assist, and junior midfielder Gary Collyer delivered two goals and four assists as the Hornets (13-3) used a second-quarter surge to roll past the Panthers (10-4) and into the SCT quarterfinals.

Holmdel led 2-0 after the first quarter before sophomore attackman Brady Kirk put the Panthers on the board and cut the Hornets' lead to 2-1 early in the second quarter. With sophomore FOGO Jack Powers dominating the face-off X, Holmdel scored eight straight goals in the second to take a 10-1 halftime lead.

Powers unofficially won 17 of 21 face-offs. Senior goalie Andrew Arredondo backstopped a stout defensive effort by making six saves. Freshman midfielder Jack Cannon and senior attackman Kyle Kapcsos tallied two goals and one assist each, and sophomore attackman Brian Volpe had a goal and an assist.

Kirk and junior midfielder Gavin Reid scored goals for Point Boro and junior goalie Colin Cole had a strong game with 14 saves.

Holmdel will play at No. 3 Manasquan in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

 

5-Red Bank 12, 12-Manalapan 10

Senior midfielder Henry Spencer sank five goals and junior midfielder Andrew Pape notched a hat trick as the Bucs (13-2) held off a tough challenge from the Braves (8-5) to advance to the SCT quarterfinals.

Sophomore FOGO Kevin Ruland had a big day at the face-off X, winning 17 of 25 draws. Sophomore Jack Tavares scored twice, freshman attackman Gabe Pape had a goal and two assists, and senior midfielder Ryder Villani had a goal and an assist. Senior goalie Gavin Lisko made six saves.

Junior midfielder Marc Stefanelli and sophomore Jake Schatz tallied three goals and one assist each and freshman goalie Connor Doel made 18 saves to lead Manalapan. Senior midfielder Luke Mann scored twice, junior attackman Christian Zdziarski had a goal and an assist, sophomore Matt Avivi scored once, and junior attackman Anthony Macchio had two assists.

Red Bank will play at CBA in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

 

3-Manasquan 18, 14-Jackson Memorial 1

Senior attackman Matt Porazzo scored three goals and added three assists and sophomore attackman Brandon Kunz delivered a goal and four assists to help the Warriors (12-3) overpower the Jaguars (9-3) and advance to the SCT quarterfinals.

Senior midfielder James Farinacci scored three times, while sophomore attackman Ryan Aldi, junior midfielder Joseph Carabetta, and freshman midfielder Jack O'Reilly each scored twice. Senior midfielder Blake Gorski and sophomore midfielder Matt Schneider had a goal and an assist each. Junior midfielder Brody Muly, junior attackman Nick Carabetta, and freshman midfielder Lucas Longo had one goal apiece.

Junior FOGO Ty Thermann won 9 of 16 face-offs and sophomore Luke Herbert won 5 of 7 face-offs. Junior Nick Bounassi made four saves in goal while sharing time in the cage with sophomore Pat Loxley (2 saves) and sophomore Cooper Daly (1 save).

Senior attackman Justin Perillo scored once and junior goalie Russell Cender made nine saves for Jackson Memorial.

Manasquan will host No. 6 Holmdel in Tuesday's quarterfinal round.

 

4-CBA 20, 13-Toms River East 6

Junior attackman Ryan Martin tallied five goals and one assist and sophomore attackman Carter McGuire delivered four goals and one assist to lead the Colts (9-5) past the Raiders (8-3) and into the SCT quarterfinals.

Senior midfielder Ian Macrae and freshman midfielder Ben Breeden each had a goal and two assists and senior attackman Nick Blalock dished out four assists. Senior attackman Brendan Donnelly and senior midfielder Christain D'Alterio each had a goal and an assist while senior defenseman Ryan Caufield, sophomore midfielder Davis Campbell, sophomore LSM Quinn Kelly, junior midfielder Cameron D'Alterio, senior midfielder Christian Petruzzelli, junior attackman Roman DeCenzo, and freshman attackman Caden Lucich each scored once.

Junior goalie Brandon DeSena made four saves and sophomore FOGO Hunter Kilpatrick went 14-for-20 at the face-off X.

Senior midfielder Luke Barber totaled two goals, one assist, and 10 ground balls for Toms River East. Nate Cummings had a goal and an assist and Maxson Huttemann, Ethan Smith, and Patrick Hinkson had one goal apiece. Senior goalie Lester Cook made seven saves.

CBA will host Red Bank in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

 

Nonconference

Middletown South 12, Oratory Prep 11

Junior midfielder Colin Gallagher netted four goals and one assist and junior attackman Logan Bailin fired in four goals as the Eagles (9-5) won a thriller over the Rams (9-5) at The Swamp.

Senior attackman Steve Kirschner had two goals and one assist while senior midfielders Beau Servidio and Mike Povini each scored once. Senior goalie Lucas Campos made eight saves and senior defenseman Ryan Dunphy collected a team-high 10 ground balls.
