CLASS A NORTH

Colts Neck 28, Neptune 21 (OT)

A one-yard touchdown run by senior Vinnie Gargiulo in overtime gave the Cougars the lead an an interception in the end zone by senior cornerback Bryce Campbell clinched a thrilling win for Colts Neck, which rallied from a 21-7 halftime deficit to stun the Scarlet Fliers.

Senior running back Carmen Catena had a pair of touchdown runs in the second half, including 16-yard score with 1:05 left in regulation that tied the game at 21.

 

Howell 50, Marlboro 34

Junior quarterback Eddie Morales completed 28 of 30 passes for 303 yards and 6 touchdowns as the Rebels (5-4, 5-1) put up 458 yards of offense to win a shootout over the Mustangs (3-6, 0-6).

Wide receiver Dan Cacciatore had 10 receptions for 62 yards and 3 touchdowns while running back Nick Chambers ran for 126 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries and also had 65 yards on three receptions. Naz Brantley had 4 catches for 65 yards and 2 touchdowns and Pat Handy made five catches for 69 yards and a touchdown.

Senior running back Cameron Caorsi ran for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 carries and junior running back Jonny Helff ran for 108 yards and a score on 16 carries to give Marlboro two 1,000-yard rushers this season. Junior wide out Justin Marcus had 7 catches for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kyle Moore threw for 114 yards and a touchdown and Michael Wolff had 76 yards passing and a score.

 

CLASS B CENTRAL

Asbury Park 34, Keansburg 12

Ja'King Agostini threw three touchdowns, two to Donte Abrams, and Paul Reed ran for a pair of touchdowns to propel the the Blue Bishops (5-3, 3-2) past the Titans (2-7, 0-5).

Reed opened the scoring with a 55-yard touchdown run before Keansburg answered on a 22-yard touchdown run by junior quarterback Danny Vital. Abrams hauled in a 31-yard touchdown strike from Agostini to push Asbury Park's lead to 12-6 and Reed scored on a 26-yard run that made it 20-6 after a successful two-point conversion. A short touchdown run by Vital with 12 seconds left in the first half cut the deficit to 20-12 for the Titans.

The Bishops began to pull away in the third quarter when Agostini threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Josmere Taylor and connected with Devin Nash-McGee on the conversion. Agostini's second touchdown pass to Abrams in the fourth quarter capped the scoring.

 

NONDIVISIONAL

Freehold 28, Long Branch 8

Junior quarterback Ashante Worthy threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 98 yards and two touchdowns to power the Colonials (5-4) to their fifth straight win.

Ahlonte Hair caught five passes for 103 yards and a 67-yard touchdown catch and also had an interception and 51-yard return that set up another score. Matt Krauss caught an eight-yard touchdown pass and also recovered a fumble. Worthy's touchdown runs were five and 47 yards. Sean Neely added an interception and Danny Belmont also recovered a fumble.

Senior running back Keith Cooper had a 26-yard touchdown run and Marc Dennis tossed a two-point conversion pass to Pasa Fields for Long Branch (1-7). Kevin Porch had an interception and a fumble recovery.
